24 Terrible TV Relationships People Got So, So Sick Of Seeing On Their Screens

    Please just break up already.

We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community which TV show couples stayed together way too long. Here are some relationships they think should have ended much earlier:

    Warning: spoilers ahead!!!

    1. Archie and Veronica from Riverdale:

Archie guilts Veronica for not saying "I love you back"
    The CW

"I could not care less about Varchie if I tried. It’s one of the most boring lead romances I’ve ever seen."

    lilyc4c4912467

"They're by far the worst romance on the show. Sure, they have physical chemistry, but that's it. Their solution to everything is to hook up. They hold each other back and are just annoying to watch."

    person192829

    2. Hope and Landon from Legacies:

Hope says she pissed a lot of people off but it runs in the family, Landon says risking everything for the people she loves is a "classic Mikaelson move"
    The CW

“One of the things I’ve always loved about Hope is how strong, confident, and courageous she is and her storylines have always been a perfect reflection of that. But lately, her storylines are revolving solely around Landon, and I’m getting so bored. Every single one of her actions has been centered on Hope finding Landon, Hope protecting Landon, and so on, and I miss when Hope just got to be Hope, an independent character that wasn’t so reliant on her love interest. Honestly, I think it’s time to move past this couple just for the sake of getting the Hope we know and love back.”

    3. Rafael and Jane from Jane the Virgin:

Rafael: "I just don't love you the way that you love me"
    The CW

"Jane and Michael's relationship was the dream — they were so loving and supportive. Meanwhile, Rafael and Jane fought all the time. He was a great co-parent, but as a lover? No way. Jane and Michael forever."

    irisajune606

    4. Emily and Paige from Pretty Little Liars:

Emily says she was lost and looking for Paige the night she was drugged, they kiss
    Freeform

"They were so toxic and their relationship was totally dragged out. It started under murky circumstances (Paige kissing Emily after bullying her, Emily kissing Paige while drugged) and honestly shouldn't have happened at all. They should have quickly realized it wasn't healthy. Emily deserved better!"

    hannahmarder

    5. Rory and Dean from Gilmore Girls:

Rory and Dean sleep together and begin an affair
    The WB

"Dean was awful and it made no sense for Rory to go back to him when he was married."

    aprilmarie2018

    6. Kurt and Blaine from Glee:

Kurt finds out Blaine cheated on him
    Fox

"Even before Blaine cheated, it was obvious the relationship had taken a backseat in Kurt's head. I was definitely relieved when they cut each other loose — they needed to grow on their own."

    cheesecake21

    7. Stefan and Elena from The Vampire Diaries:

    The CW

"The whole time they were together, I was just rooting for Damon and Elena to happen already."

    ravey88

    8. Ted and Robin from How I Met Your Mother:

Ted justifies cheating on Victoria because Robin is "the one"
    CBS

"It dragged on for so long and was so one-sided. What did they even have in common?"

    tessieresan

    9. Jackson and Maggie from Grey's Anatomy:

    ABC

"They just happened out of the blue and made zero sense. Not only did they have zero chemistry, they were literally stepsiblings. I was so glad when they finally broke it off after all those seasons."

    xdaniellax

    10. Rory and Logan from Gilmore Girls:

Rory and Logan spend one more night together before he gets married
    Netflix

"I hated them together. Rory became such a brat, and Logan was already a spoiled brat. I was happy when she rejected his proposal, but then they had an affair in the revival."

    s463b03bd4

    11. Aria and Ezra from Pretty Little Liars:

Aria and Ezra tell her parents they're dating
    Freeform

"It was literally a student dating their teacher. Plus, Ezra used her to write a book. Somehow, they still ended up together."

    chocolate829

    12. Fitz and Olivia from Scandal:

Fitz says Olivia left him, Olivia reminds him he's married
    ABC

"They annoyed me more and more as the show went on. I had to stop watching because I couldn't stand their relationship anymore."

    tj094777

    13. Jackie and Kelso from That '70s Show:

    Fox

"They dragged the relationship out WAY too long, and by the end, I just did not care at all. Jackie was annoying, but Kelso was a straight-up terrible person. Jackie should have been done with him way earlier."

    fredzesty

    14. Sabrina and Nick from The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina:

Nick confronts Sabrina about sacrificing himself for her
    Netflix

"The relationship ran its course partway through Season 2, but they just could not let it go."

    sunshine_lollipops_rainbows

    15. Veronica and Duncan from Veronica Mars:

Veronica finds out Duncan's ex is pregnant with his baby, he says it "has nothing to do with them"
    UPN

    Suggested by: siobhankb1

I never understood why they got back together. I know Duncan was supposed to be her perfect first love, but Veronica and Logan had way more chemistry and were so much more interesting to watch. I was glad when Duncan left the show for good.

    16. Carrie and Big from Sex and the City:

Big: "Want to play a second game?" Carrie: "Maybe"
    HBO

"They got together, then broke up, got back together, broke up again, and then got married. The relationship was exhausting, unrealistic, and way too much damn drama."

    jessilyne00

    17. Emily and Alison from Pretty Little Liars:

Emily tells Alison she wasted so much time on her
    Freeform

"I was waiting for them to end the second they got together. It felt like a forced relationship and I don’t think they were ever good together."

    aljr02

    18. Miles and Tristan from Degrassi: Next Class:

Miles says he gave up everything for Tristan while he was in his coma, Tristan says he didn't ask him to do that
    Netflix

The relationship was so incredibly forced and clearly outran its course, but the show insisted on keeping them together for some reason, even making them go to 'prom' together after they finally broke up. They never had a real conversation or genuine connection and it felt like they only stayed together because of the bus crash.

    19. Matt and Gabby from Chicago Fire:

Gabby comes back and dances with Matt
    NBC

"They were absolutely toxic for each other. They were together for like six years, but they never once talked to each other about their feelings. It just got boring. When Gabby eventually left, it was more of a relief than anything."

    yme1994

    20. Blair and Chuck from Gossip Girl:

Blair: "I never thought the worst thing you would do would be to me!" Chuck: "You went up there on your own"
    The CW

"They should’ve been done for good after he literally traded her for a hotel like she was a piece of property. Chuck was toxic and Blair deserved better."

    whenharrymetsally1989

    21. Diane and Mr. Peanutbutter from BoJack Horseman:

    Netflix

"I get why the show kept them together for as long as it did and they were integral to each other’s character development, but by the time they broke up, I was honestly just relieved because I’d been waiting for that moment for four seasons. I love them both individually, but they were just not a good fit for each other."

    jenniewatchestv

    22. Clark and Lana from Smallville:

Clark says his feelings for Lana have changed
    The WB

"They were always on and off and it just frustrated me. It was just a really boring relationship. Plus, Clark was clearly always going to end up with Lois."

    awesomeabel416

    23. Ginny and Hunter from Ginny & Georgia:

Hunter says he was "great" to Ginny and that she didn't deserve it
    Netflix

Ginny clearly didn't really like Hunter and was pining after Marcus the whole time. They had no chemistry, Hunter never stood up for her, and Ginny cheated on him. They should have broken up much sooner.

    24. And finally, Ross and Rachel from Friends:

Ross writes a list of Rachel's flaws
    NBC

"They weren't good for each other. I really think Rachel and Joey were a better fit."

    decadentpencil362

"I really liked what Ross and Emily had and couldn't stand Ross and Rachel together ever since. Rewatching the show now, the constant 'will they/won't they' just pisses me off. Ross and Rachel were so much more tolerable when they were just friends."
