23 Times TV Shows Ended With The Wrong Couple And Pissed Everyone Off

Thanks, I hate it!

We recently asked the BuzzFeed Community to tell us which TV couples were endgame but seriously should not have been. Here are some of their responses:

🚨Warning: MAJOR spoilers ahead! 🚨

Note: Some of the following contain mentions of sexual assault and abuse.

1. Jackie and Fez from That '70s Show

Jackie and Fez kiss in the finale

"Jackie and Hyde made each other better people and had amazing development, while Fez and Jackie had zero chemistry. The show just threw them together as the cherry on top of the mess that was Season 8."

2. Ross and Rachel from Friends

Rachel tells Ross she got off the plane, they kiss

"I get why the writers did it, but they'd both grown so much in different ways over the seasons. It always struck me as fan service rather than the actual way it should have ended."

3. Cersei and Jaime from Game of Thrones

"All of Jaime's character development went down the gutter with this one decision."

4. Rachel and Jesse from Glee

"I know that if Finn were still alive, he and Rachel would’ve been endgame, no question. But did she have to end up with Jesse?"

5. Haley and Dylan from Modern Family

Haley and Dylan at her ultrasound

"I know a lot of people wanted Haley to end up with Andy, and I would have preferred that over Dylan, but my ideal ending for Haley would have been for her to have a successful career in fashion or become an influencer."

6. Emma and Spinner from Degrassi: The Next Generation

Emma and Spinner get married

"They barely interacted throughout the series. I could see if it had been a slow-burn, but the marriage felt like jumping the shark."

"Emma and Spinner were a JOKE. We all know Sean and Emma were meant to be!"

7. Aria and Ezra from Pretty Little Liars

Aria and Ezra tell her parents they're dating

"Ezra knowingly dated a minor and then ended up marrying her. He should have ended up in jail!"

8. Jane and Rafael from Jane the Virgin

Kevin Estrada / CW Network / Courtesy Everett Collection

"It just felt forced, especially with how they brought Michael back from the dead and then ruined his character so he wasn’t a romantic option. Ultimately, I just don’t think Jane and Rafael were a good match."

9. Lip and Tami from Shameless

Lip tells Tami to "go fuck herself"

"They had no chemistry whatsoever and their entire relationship felt so forced. They never would have gotten together if she hadn't gotten pregnant. There was no passion, communication, or development between them."

10. Emily and Alison from Pretty Little Liars

Alison tells Emily she's only kissing her for practice

"It totally went against the characters and made no sense. I hated it."

Note: Emily and Alison do divorce in the spinoff The Perfectionists.

11. Ted and Robin from How I Met Your Mother

Ted and Robin break up over their differences

"They spent nine seasons showing why they weren't good together, then made them endgame. It was a ridiculous ending."

12. Scott and Malia from Teen Wolf

"The relationship made zero sense, plus they had no chemistry. You could clearly tell the writers only put them together because the characters needed new love interests after Stiles and Kira left."

13. Kurt and Blaine from Glee

Blaine accuses Kurt of cheating, Kurt says he feels like he's on crazy pills

"They both consistently lied to each other and hid things from each other, and Blaine even cheated on Kurt. I'm pretty sure they would have been divorced by now if the show had continued."

14. Dan and Serena from Gossip Girl

Dan calls Serena desperate attention-seeking shallow and sad
The CW

"They were toxic and problematic. Serena should’ve ended up with Nate."

15. Alex and Izzie from Grey's Anatomy

Alex writes Jo a farewell letter saying he's in love with Izzie

"Alex ending up with Izzie infuriates me every single time I rewatch the show. Jo deserved better!"

16. Artie and Tina from Glee

Artie and Tina make a pact to get married if they're both single by 30

"I liked them as BFFs and each other's first loves, but I was much more into Artie's relationship with Kitty and I thought Tina deserved to find love outside of the McKinley bubble. Artie and Tina ending up together was a punch-to-the-gut disappointment."

17. Chuck and Blair from Gossip Girl

Chuck tells Blair she can never marry anyone else and that she belongs to him
The CW

"Chuck was an abuser and an attempted rapist — he didn’t deserve the happy ending he got. Blair deserved better."

18. Aang and Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender

Aang kisses Katara, she widens her eyes in shock

"Even for a cartoon, Katara had way more chemistry with Zuko."

19. Lane and Zack from Gilmore Girls

Lane pregnant with Zack's twins
The WB

"Zack offered Lane nothing — she deserved better."

20. Hayley and Leo from Greenhouse Academy

Hayley and Leo kiss in the finale

"Leo never really made up for lying to her about his relationship with Aspen, and then he was horrible to her when she chose Daniel. Plus, Daniel and Hayley were absolutely perfect for each other — they challenged each other and really cared about each other. I will forever be bitter that she broke up with Daniel for Leo in the last episode of the series."

21. Piper and Alex from Orange Is the New Black

Piper and Alex arguing on the phone

"They were toxic for each other and it would have been nice to see them both find someone else and grow."

22. Mindy and Danny from The Mindy Project

Hulu / Courtesy Everett Collection

"Danny was an abusive, misogynistic monster. I’m still mad about it."

23. And finally, Lucas and Peyton from One Tree Hill

Lucas to Peyton: "I hate you, I wish you never came back, you ruined my life"
The CW
