Kendrick Lamar Just Beat Drake's Single-Day Spotify Record

Sorry Drizzy, if you're reading this it's too late.

Did you spend Monday listening to Kendrick Lamar's new album To Pimp A Butterfly on loop? Well, according to Spotify, you weren't the only one.

The streaming service announced Tuesday that To Pimp A Butterfly was streamed more than 9.6 million times in its first 24 hours, setting the new global record for the most album streams in a single day.

The record was previously held by Drake, whose surprise mixtape If You're Reading This It's Too Late was streamed 6.8 million times in its first day in February.

Drake also holds the record for most album streams in a single week (23.6 million), but if To Pimp A Butterfly can maintain its early momentum, Lamar might snatch that too.
