There are a lot of good things about the selfie Beyoncé just shared — the presence of Blue, the ladies' matching oversize sunglasses, the Queen demonstrating good oral hygiene with a dental floss stick — but the best part is definitely the soundtrack.
The seven-second snippet features a sample of a woman saying “flossin’” and Jay Z dropping a couple trademark “ums.” It's not much, but could it be the first taste of Beyoncé and Jay Z’s long-rumored joint album?
On Monday, Jay Z announced the relaunch of his latest investment: high-fidelity streaming service Tidal. In addition to CD-quality audio, it'll differentiate itself from competitors like Spotify with exclusive content from some of music's biggest stars.
While Tidal already has exclusives from stars like Alicia Keys, Rihanna, and Daft Punk, a Tidal-only album from Bey and Jay would be an excellent way to jumpstart the fledgling streaming service.
Or, you know, it could just be a cruel joke and we're getting our hopes up for nothing.
It is April Fools' Day, after all.
