I am a carbon based life form with two opposable thumbs, currently residing on the surface of this beautiful planet as she swings me around the sun in an ever graceful arch. I was born astride the Fall Line, in Macon, Georgia, on the down hill side of the 1950's, raised on TV, sugar, Barbecue pork and sweet tea and protected from the mean wide world by a buffer that can only come from the geographical advantage of growing up in the Land That Time Forgot. The rest is history or at least social studies. Survived High School; attended UGA in Hot Athens, graduating in 78; met my future wife Cindy there; moved to New York City with her in 79; lived there until the end of 90, attending the School of Visual Arts and subsequently working in advertising and graphic design in various capacities; Rolling Stone to Ogilvy & Mather and a few sordid places in between; toward the latter years of my New York phase I landed a position with Dentsu, the worldwide Japanese ad agency, working there for several years,traveling to Japan on occasion; eventually moved back south to Atlanta to make children and to have a yard in which to park them (or at least a kitchen where you didn't have to stand to one side to open the oven door. Not that I ever have a need to open an oven.) That is where currently I sit pecking away at this keyboard while my brain continues its slow decay at an ever escalating and somewhat alarming rate. In Atlanta that is, not in the kitchen. We have two kids, the boy ten and the girl thirteen (yes, be afraid, be very afraid) and a Toy Fox Terrier who occupies a spot only slightly ahead of me in the pecking order around here. Worked for Austin Kelley, the man and the agency, for more years than I can recall before jumping out and into my current state of self employment as freelance art director, slightly askew photographer and unrepentant Photoshop junkie. And of course, indentured servant to my children and devoted partner to my soul mate of 33 years and counting. I wouldn't have it any other way.
