I came, I saw, I ate everything.
Why it's so good: OK, I love cake pops in general, but this one is next-level. The cake is dense and delicious, and it has a super subtle grape flavor to it. The purple sprinkles give it a nice crunch, and the white chocolate grape soda label is delicious.
Get it if: You have a sweet tooth, and/or you always cry during the first 10 minutes of Up.
Price: $5.49
Why it's so good: Of all the specialty churros they have for Pixar Fest, this is the closest to a basic churro. It's orange, but light on the carrot cake flavor. If you like cream cheese, this is the churro for you. The dipping sauce (cream cheese, raisins, carrots, and condensed milk) is delightful.
Get it if: If you like basic churros, and/or cream cheese icing.
Price: $5.75
Why it's so good: This was my personal favorite Pixar churro. The churro is dusted in vanilla bean and salted cinnamon sugar, and served with a spiced Mexican chocolate dipping sauce that is unreal. It has a little bit of a kick, and is just thick enough. Plus, chocolate and churros always pair well.
Get it if: You're a chocoholic.
Price: $5.75
Why it's so good: These are the prettiest of the specialty churros, and the strawberry flavor is tasty but not overpowering. The pink sugar bits are slightly larger than the other two churros, so it has a Pop Rocks kind of consistency.
Get it if: You prefer a fruity churro. Otherwise, get the Cocoa Churro.
Price: $5.25
Why it's so good: This is a hearty and filling lunch pasta — it's tossed in spinach and miso pesto, with sweet peas, bacon, and Parmesan cheese. The pesto is a little bit bland overall, so I'd suggest asking for extra smoky bacon (it makes the dish, tbh).
Get it if: You're craving pasta and wanna load up on carbs so you have enough energy to hoof it over to Space Mountain.
Price: $10.49
Why it's so good: This. Pizza. Is. Everything. I would write it sonnets, I would date it exclusively, I would marry it. It's a thickish-crust pizza topped with pizza sauce, cheese, ketchup, yellow mustard, chopped-up burger patties, a house-made burger sauce, and pickles. I cannot recommend it enough.
Get it if: You have taste buds and love pizza and/or burgers.
Price: $8.49
Why it's so good: This is a super Instagrammable sweet treat that I'd recommend splitting with someone else — it's that sugary, and I have a huge sweet tooth. It's three layers of spongey, fruity, colorful cake, topped with a lime mousse and white chocolate alien eyes.
Get it if: You're fine with a sugar rush.
Price: $5.99
Why it's so good: These are so scrumptious, and I'd recommend them over the parfait (they're not nearly as sticky-sweet). They're fresh and full of delicious berry filling, with a surprise tangy key lime center.
Get it if: You want a post-lunch treat and love key lime.
Price: $5.99
Why it's so good: This is by far the most Instagrammable Pixar treat at Disneyland. It's covered in edible rose gold glitter, and I took roughly 1,000 pictures of it. It has a pretty strong orangey taste, and it's gorgeous and soft like a cumulonimbus cloud. The glitter's also pretty tasty!
Get it if: You're ready to post Instagram pictures of cotton candy for a month and you don't mind being covered in rose gold glitter after you eat it.
Price: $5.25
Why it's so good: This cone is loaded with turkey meatballs — mine had at least eight. The cheese crisps on top are delightful, and the savory bread cone is pretty and also surprisingly durable (seriously, there's A LOT of meat in this). There's also some surprise spiral pasta in the bottom of the cone.
Get it if: You're really hungry, love meat, and don't mind getting your hands good and saucy.
Price: $8.99
Why it's so good: I'm not a huge corn dog fan, but this puppy delivers. It starts with a spicy hot link (the best), then you hit the gooey jack cheese center, and end with a super spicy cajun chicken sausage. It comes with a spicy blackberry sauce that's pretty meh, but the corn dog is awesome overall. But beware, it is spicy, so make sure you have some water.
Get it if: You want a quick lunch on the go, love corn dogs, or are wary of corn dogs and want to try one (because this one will convert you).
Price: $9.49
Why it's so good: This cake has three layers — lemon (the best), raspberry, and blueberry — and some of the best icing I've ever had. I was told it's buttercream, but it has a decidedly cream cheese-y taste and thick consistency. It's perfect for a true Pixar fan, with a dollop of bright yellow whipped topping and a white chocolate Luxo Ball garnish.
Get it if: You love cake and want an iconic Pixar Instagram.
Price: $5.99
Why it's so good: This is a perfect dish if you want something on the lighter side. The chilled iridescent noodles, herbaceous preserved plants, sweet and spicy vinaigrette, crushed and toasted peanuts with mint, thai basil, shredded daikon, and carrots all go together so well. And it comes with a nice thick fortune cookie.
Get it if: You want a lighter snack or lunch.
Price: $10.49
Why it's so good: The cheese flight includes fourme d'Ambert (raw cow's milk cheese), bucheron (mild goat cheese), P'tit Basque (hard sheep's milk cheese), dried fruit, and an ooey-gooey bit of honeycomb. The honeycomb is the best part.
Get it if: You love cheese. It's a lot of cheese.
Price: Part of $40.00 Prix Fixe
Why it's so good: This really is a good dinner, and if you've been chowing down on sugar all day, the roasted zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant, and tomato will be a welcome respite. The sauce is robust, and the shrimp are perfectly seasoned.
Get it if: You want a nice, vegetable-heavy, sit-down dinner.
Price: Part of $40.00 Prix Fixe
Why it's so good: This is the best dessert in the park right now, do not @ me. The three beignets are soft and warm, with just enough berry filling, and the mascarpone and sweet Brie drizzle is out of this world.
Get it if: You want the best dessert in the park (again, do not @ me).
Price: Part of $40.00 Prix Fixe
Why it's so good: I know we started with a grape-flavored Up item, but we're gonna end with one, too! This is one of the few specialty Pixar drinks and it is just so refreshing. It isn't too syrupy or sweet, and it kinda tastes like a melted grape Fla-Vor-Ice popsicle.
Get it if: You need a quick sugar fix or hit your midday slump and need a cool pick-me-up.
