This year, Lionel Richie was honored as Person of the Year. Grammys host LL Cool J and comedian James Corden introduced the tribute to Lionel.
There was a performance medley of some of Lionel's greatest hits. John Legend, Demi Lovato, Luke Bryan, Meghan Trainor, and Tyrese Gibson all paid tribute. Lionel was into it.
The tribute kicked off with John Legend doing a perfect rendition of "Easy," it was beautiful.
Lionel agreed.
But then Demi Lovato came out in a power suit to perform "Hello," and things got real. This was Demi's first year at the Grammys, and her first performance. This was a big moment.
