26 Things I Tried, Loved, And Won't Stop Talking About

    What can I say? I'm a fan.

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

    1. These light-dimming stickers that are perfect for anyone who likes to sleep in absolute darkness. They make the glowy lights from all your gadgets less intense, so you can get your beauty sleep.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

When it comes to sleeping, my motto is 'night's out, lights out.' All of them. My reaction to even the faintest of lights is very similar to a vampire being exposed to the sun: not cute. But I have a bunch of devices in my room that blink and glow during the night! My fan, my air purifier, my computer screen, and my air conditioning unit are just a few that I can list off the top of my head. Buying these light-dimming stickers was the best money I've spent in a while. I just popped them onto my devices and the lights were instantly duller. They come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, making it easy to find the perfect one for each device. I can still see that the lights are on, but they're not nearly as annoying.

Get a pack of 100 stickers from Amazon Canada for $7.89.

    2. These adorable towel scrunchies that'll suck up all the excess water from your tresses, so you won't have to go to bed with wet hair. They're made with a soft microfibre material that won't pull on your follicles or make your hair frizzy.

    @mykitsch / Via, Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

I have very thick hair to begin with, but I normally wear it in long braids that hold onto water like no one's business. I don't use heat styling tools, so after washing my hair, it can take a whole day for them to air dry — and sometimes I'll even wake up with damp hair. These scrunchies are absolute game changers. I just snatch my hair into a ponytail, bun, or a pair of space buns (if I'm feeling cute), and wait for the magic to happen. After a couple hours, my hair is basically dry. And as you can see from the GIF, the scrunchie absorbed most of the moisture.

Get two from Amazon Canada for $21.82+. Also available in white.

    3. This electric lint remover that'll gently remove stray fibres from your favourite sweaters and blankets so they look as good as new. You can use it anywhere in your home, because it comes with a USB cord that'll plug into your laptop or power bank charger instead of a wall socket.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

The lint remover comes with a power cord, an extra blade, a storage bag, and a cleaning brush.

I got this because my favourite sweaters were starting to look kind of grungy. I tried using lint rollers, but they weren't picking up enough of the pills on my knits, and it was so time consuming. This electric shaver got rid of ALL the annoying pills and my sweaters look good as new. It's super gentle on clothes and it took way less time to get rid of the pills.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $17.99.

    4. These tiny beauty spatulas that'll help you get every last drop of your beauty products out of your bottles, so you won't have to replace them right away. And when the containers are cleaned out, they'll be in the perfect condition to be recycled.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

The regular spatula is great for medium to large sized bottles like lotion, shampoo, or conditioner, and the mini spatula is perfect for makeup bottles. I figure after using these spatulas for a few months, I've probably saved more than a few loonies and toonies on makeup and skincare. Plus, it's super satisfying to see how much product comes out. I knew there was more in there!

Get a two-pack from Amazon Canada for $8.47+. Available in three colours and packs of four.

    5. A dust pan and broom set that'll save you from having to bend over to sweep your floors. The dustpan has a set of rubber teeth across the center to catch stray hairs from the broom bristles.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

The bristles on this broom are stiff as heck. Instead of pulling out the vacuum, I can give the rugs and carpeted floors in my house a quick sweep and this broom actually does the job. The idea of having to crouch down to sweep dirt into a dustpan is very unappealing for me, so I really love that the dustpan has a handle. The rubber teeth are another great feature, because I hate picking those stray pieces of fluff and hair from the bottom of my broom. And storing this set is a breeze and it doesn't take up anymore space than a traditional broom and dustpan.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $35.78.

    6. This tube of Caudalie hand cream that'll save your hands from drying out like the Sahara Desert. It's made with grape seed oil, shea butter, and avocado extract to soften, protect, and moisturize your dry hands and cuticles, without feeling heavy or greasy.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

I've been washing my hands a lot recently (AS WE ALL SHOULD BE) and it was starting to take a toll on my skin. My hands were so dry and the skin felt really tight immediately after washing. So I started using some Caudalie hand cream, and it's become the second step in my hand-washing routine. The texture is light and it absorbs really quickly, without leaving behind a sticky or greasy feeling. And it has a warm citrus scent that I find very subtle and soothing. My hands look and feel moisturized and soft, and I'll definitely be restocking once I finish the tube.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $12+. Available in two sizes.

    7. This plant-based laundry soap, if you just want to wash a couple of things and don't have enough clothing to do a full load. It's perfect for the clothes you don't want to put in the washing machine for fear of shrinking or getting damaged like sweaters and lingerie.

A person holding a small bottle of laundry detergent over a basin filled with water
    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

I use this all the time to wash my favourite sweaters and other delicate garments I don't like putting in the washing machine. I also like using it to quickly clean a bra or pair of underwear. I just add a capful of soap to a basin of water and let the garments soak for 15 minutes. And I've even started using it to wash my cloth face masks at the end of the day. I love how light the scent is. I have it in fig, but it also comes in unscented, if you're not into fragrances. Plus, it's a no-rinse formula, so I'm using less water.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $20. Available in six scents.

    8. This ring light that'll make you shine bright like a diamond. It has three brightness levels and a flexible phone mount, so you'll always have perfect lighting while you video chat, apply makeup, take selfies, and film TikToks.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

There isn't a lot of light in my room, so it's made a world of a difference. I use it in the mornings when it's still dark out to apply my makeup. And now that I'm working from home, I set it up behind my laptop, so I look less like a dungeon troll during my Zoom calls. I don't know why I waited so long to buy this, because I've used it every day since I bought it.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $58.99.

    9. This pocket-sized bottle of hand sanitizer that won't dry your hands out every time you use it. It comes out as a fine mist, so your digits won't be soaking wet and it'll leave behind the light and soothing scent of lavender.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

Now that hand sanitizer is something I never leave the house without, I wanted to stock up on a few travel-sized bottles. I really liked this one because it solved some of the issues I had with using other hand sanitizers. First, it's a fine mist, so it doesn't make my hands super wet before drying down. It also has a light lavender scent, which is downright heavenly compared to the strong chemical smells from other hand sanitizers. My hands don't feel Sahara Desert dry after using it and it comes in this really sleek bottle that's small enough to fit in my pocket. It's a perfect ten out of ten.

Get it from Indigo for $18. Available in eight scents.

    10. This Garnier sheet mask that'll keep your skin hydrated as heck, because it's packed with half a bottle of serum. It's also incredibly gentle, so it can be used on almost all skin types.

    @garniercan / Via, Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

The mask contains hyaluronic acid, which is an impressive molecule that can hold 1,000 times its weight in water.

I have oily/combination skin, so my cheeks and chin tend to be drier than the T-zone. Even after I remove the mask, there is so much product left on my skin and in the package that I use it the excess serum on my neck. I can immediately see brighter, smoother, and more hydrated skin after just 15 minutes on my face.

Get it from Amazon Canada for for $3.34+ (as an add-on item). Available in nine scents.

    11. This pack of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers that'll actually remove all the stains you've been trying to get rid of for months. All it takes is a bit of water and a couple swipes to clean permanent marker, crayon stains, and scuff marks from all the surfaces in your home.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

I live with two small children and, as a result, I'm constantly cleaning up after them. These magic erasers are a true blessing. Instead of scrubbing away stains with a bucket and cloth like Cinderella, I can quickly and effectively remove whatever mysterious marks and stains I find on tables, walls, and other surfaces in seconds. Like this beautiful crayon mural, for instance. It took less than a minute to clean up, and all it took was a little water and elbow grease.

Get a pack of two from Amazon Canada for $2.97 (as an add-on item).

    12. This collapsible silicone bowl that'll make a batch of fluffy popcorn in a couple minutes. It comes with a lid to keep all the kernels inside and has handles on the sides, so you can easily and safely grasp it.

The silicone popcorn maker filled with delicious looking popcorn
    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

All you need is a container of kernels!

Making a batch is so easy: Throw in the kernels, butter, and salt (or whatever seasoning you like), cover the bowl with the lid, and pop it in the microwave for a couple minutes. It only took a minute and a half to pop all the kernels and I didn't have to throw out a paper bag afterward (we love a reusable product). I really like this popcorn maker because I don't have to transfer my popcorn to another bowl. My movie marathons at home just got a little tastier.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $19.12.

    13. An exfoliating face peel that'll gently remove dead skin cells from your face, without irritating it. Reviewers like using this as an alternative to physical exfoliants, which can be a little rougher on skin.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

I try to exfoliate my skin a couple times a week and this peel is the easiest and gentlest way to do it. I just rub it onto my skin in circular motions and watch as it lifts all the dead skin from my face. It takes less than a minute to work and my skin feels so smooth afterwards. It’s kind of gross and also really satisfying to watch. I've been using it for a couple years now and it's completely changed the texture of my skin.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $22.22.

    14. This flexible phone mount that'll clip to your bed, desk, or breakfast tray, so you won't have to hold up your phone while you watch TV or video chat.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

The mount is wide enough to clip onto my headboard, and I can use it on different pieces of furniture in my house, like my desk or shelf. Plus, the holder stretches open really wide, so it'll fit any phone. I can rotate the holder from a vertical to a horizontal position and the flexible neck makes it easy to change the position of my phone to any angle.

Check out BuzzFeed's full review of the Tryone Gooseneck Phone Holder (#18 o the list).

Get it from Amazon Canada for $22.99. Available in two colours.

    15. This little slicer that'll help you quickly and safely cut through tape, paper, or plastic packaging. It has a small ceramic blade that'll never get dull or rust, and it's almost impossible to cut your fingers on.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

I keep one on my keychain, so I always have it near me. I love using it when I’m unpacking groceries and need to cut through the thick plastic packaging. It’s also easier and much more satisfying to open boxes that are covered in packing tape. The ceramic blade is smooth, making it impossible to cut yourself with it, but it can easily cut through paper, plastic, and cardboard. I feel much more comfortable carrying it around than a pair of scissors, and it's only a third of the size.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $9.99.

    16. This Swiffer duster that'll help you reach every dust bunny in your house. It's made with coated fibres that'll stick to dust and hold on for dear life.

    Amazon / Via, Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

The handle comes with two dusters. You can pick up a box of refills here.

It's so much easier to get those awkward or hard-to-reach spots like the fan or ceiling, and the fluffy fibres actually trap dust and dirt on contact, so I don't have to worry about it falling on the floor (or in my hair) while I'm cleaning. One duster can clean up multiple rooms in my house and then I just toss it in the trash when I'm done.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $4.97 (as an add-on item).

    17. These tiny sponges that'll make washing your water bottle a piece of cake. They're filled with little ceramic beads to clean those hard-to-reach spots. Just fill the bottle with soap and water, and then shake.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

The spongey exterior is very soft and light, but it's the weighted bead inside the sponge that does all the hard work. All I have to do is fill my bottles with a mixture of water and soap, pop the sponges in, and shake it like a Polaroid picture. I liked that the sponges were small enough to fit inside all my water bottles, even the ones with very narrow mouths, like my BuzzFeed one.

Get a set of four from Simons for $7.50.

    18. These silicone spatulas, so you can apply your face masks and moisturizer with ease. It'll prevent you from transferring any oil or bacteria from your fingers to your skin and keep your hands from getting messy.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

I love face masks, but applying them with my fingers can get a little messy. These applicators have made it dramatically easier and faster to shellac my face with my favourite clay mask, so I can actually sit back and relax instead of cleaning up my hands. The silicone tip also makes it easy to spread my masks on my face, so I'm not using as much product. It's basically a spatula for your face. They're great for my gel face masks, which tend to be a little more liquid and harder to apply. I also like using them when I'm using multiple masks. I have more control over where the product goes and they're super easy to clean afterward.

Get a two-pack from Amazon Canada for $3.80.

    19. This small-but-mighty vacuum cleaner that barely weighs three pounds, so you can carry it up and down the stairs, without throwing out your back. It can also detach from the stick to become handheld, making it much easier to vacuum every inch of your house.

A small vacuum cleaner leaning against a door
    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

There are only a couple places in my house that have carpet and one of them is the stairs. The big vacuum I previously used was so heavy and cumbersome that I usually just swept the stairs with a broom. This vacuum, by comparison, is so lightweight and fits perfectly on each step. Plus, I can convert it into a handheld vacuum in seconds to get to those hard to reach spots!

Get it from Amazon Canada for $39.99.

    20. These screen protectors that'll save your phone screen from cracking if you drop it. They're made of tempered glass, making them extra durable. They're also super thin, so they won't interfere with the sensitivity of your touchscreen.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

The installation process took a bit longer than I thought it would. The screen protectors came with an alcohol wipe to clean and disinfect my phone, a cloth to dry it, a sticker to catch dust, and a guiding edge to help me line up the screen protector with my phone. AND it comes with a link to an entire video that guided me through the process. The screen protector took all the blows and when I couldn't stand looking at the cracks on it, I just peeled it off and replaced it with a new one. My actual phone screen is still in mint condition, and I'm free to be a messy, phone-dropping klutz without dealing with the consequences.

Get a three-pack from Amazon Canada for $10.99.

    21. This can of oven cleaner that'll dissolve all the grease stains and dried food residue lining the walls of your oven, broiler, or barbecue. Now you won't have to spend hours scrubbing away at your appliances to get them clean.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

This oven cleaner is magic in a can. It says you only have to leave it for a couple hours to get the best results, but I kind of forgot about it and didn’t remember until the next morning. But, boy did it work! All the grease and grime came off with a damp cloth and a flick of the wrist. It took me about five minutes to wipe down the entire oven, and as you can see, the results are impressive.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $4.77 (as an add-on item).

    22. These repairing hand masks that'll help rebalance your skin's moisture levels in ten minutes. They're great for anyone who has very dry, but also very sensitive skin. The main ingredients are shea butter and oat, and it's unscented, so it won't irritate the skin.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

You can also get a pair of foot masks, if you want to show your tootsies some love.

My hands are pretty dry already and with increased hand washing, my skin is feeling extra parched. I normally bathe my hands in cream, but it's just not enough. Enter these ~handy~ hydrating masks. First, I love that they're gloves. I've tried other masks that have a mitten shape and it's hard to sit still for 15 minutes while they work their magic. With these gloves I still have a bit of dexterity, so I can work on my laptop, clean, or whatever I need to do in the meantime. And afterwards, my hands feel so soft and moisturized.

Get a pair from Amazon Canada for $4.99 (as an add-on item).

    23. These thumb grips that'll decorate the joysticks on your Nintendo Switch or Switch Lite with a pair of pawesome prints. They're made with soft silicone that'll keep your fingers from feeling sore after playing a few hours of Animal Crossing.

A person holding a Switch Lite console with silicone covers on the joysticks
    Amazon / Via

If you're into Pokémon, you can find a pack of red and blue thumb grips here.

I've had my Nintendo Switch Lite for a few months now, and I have to say that after playing Animal Crossing for a few hours, my thumbs would get so sore. It was a small inconvenience, but I found these thumb grips and decided to give them a try. They're super easy to put on. They're made of a soft, stretchy silicone material, so they literally just snap over the joysticks. The little paw prints are not only too cute for words, but they add a little texture to keep my thumbs from sliding around. Now I can play on my Switch for as long as I want and my thumbs won't have to pay the price afterward.

Get a pack of four from Amazon Canada for $9.99.

    24. This super-cute lady bug vaccum cleaner that'll suck up small crumbs and dirt on your table, desk, or counter. It'll be way easier and faster to whip this lil' gadget out than to drag out its full-sized counterpart.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

It's a lot more powerful than I thought it would be. When I knocked over a plant, it picked up every last speck of dirt on my table and floor. It even has a brush on the bottom that'll pick up loose hair, too. I usually keep it on my desk because it looks super cute there and it helps me clean up small messes, as soon as they happen.

Get it from Amazon Canada for $15.98+. Available in two colours.

    25. These pan scrapers that'll remove hardened food from your baking pans, so you won't have to use your nails or a knife to do it. They're made of nylon, so they won't scratch or damage your cookware.

    Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

Some of my cooking pans are a little old and the non-stick coating is long gone. These scrapers make it infinitely easier to get food off, so I don't have to soak them in soapy water after every meal. I've used them on my dishes and clay baking pans, too, and they've never left a scratch.

Get a set of three from Amazon Canada for $13.99.

    26. And finally, this bottle of Biossance facial oil that'll give you a dewy summer glow all year long. It'll sink into your skin quickly, so even people with oily skin (it me) can use it every day, without feeling greasy.

    @biossance / Via, Kaysey Davis/BuzzFeed

I used to think my oily combination skin would become more greasy if I used a facial oil, but I've learned the opposite is true. My skin loves this stuff. It gives me this beautiful glow and locks in my moisturizer, so I don't feel like I have to bathe my skin in face mist throughout the day. The drier parts of my face (my forehead and chin) are significantly smoother and flake free. It's become a staple in my beauty routine, because I actually notice a different on the days I don't use it.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $95.

I give 'em two thumbs up!
