18 Rewritten TV Endings That Are So Brilliant, They Should've Actually Aired On TV

Rachel should've moved to Paris and NOT get off the plane for Ross.

We asked members of the BuzzFeed Community to rewrite TV series finales they didn't find 100% satisfying. Here are some amazing alternative endings that should've made the final cut.

Will Smith standing alone in the living room in the series finale of "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air"

    1. Supernatural (2005–2020)

Dean telling Sam he loves him in the series finale of "Supernatural"

    Alternative TV ending:

"Sam and Dean should have died together fighting the Big Bad"

    2. Pretty Little Liars (2010–2017)

Spencer: "I'm still alive because I'm your sister, but what's gonna happen to Ezra?" Alex: "Well, he's not family. So..."

    Alternative TV ending:

"For 'Pretty Little Liars,' a familiar character should have been revealed as A. My dream scenario would have been to reveal that Ezra was originally A."

    3. Will & Grace (1998–2006)

Will: "I can't believe our kids are getting married." Grace: "I can — I'm paying for it."

    Alternative TV ending:

"I would have ended it with Grace getting back together with Leo and Will getting back together with Vince"

    4. Friends (1994–2004)

Rachel entering Ross's apartment, saying, "I got off the plane."

    Alternative TV ending:

"Ross and Rachel verbally acknowledge to each other their own faults that broke them up before."

    5. The Sopranos (1999–2007)

Tony and his family are sitting at a diner table, then fade to black

    Alternative TV ending:

A simple 'gun shot' sound effect when the screen cut to black wouldn't have left so many viewers confused as to 'what the hell happened.'"

    6. The Vampire Diaries (2009–2017)

    Everyone sitting down at graduation

    Alternative TV ending:

"I know this couldn’t happen because of contracts, but it irks me to no end that the Elena and Stefan relationship just disappeared."

    7. The Originals (2013–2018)

Klaus: "I don't deserve the love you've given me, brother, but I am so grateful." Elijah: "It's been a glorious ride, Niklaus. My greatest honor."

    Alternative TV ending:

"Elijah shouldn't have died. I get that he didn’t want to come back, but there were better ways to write him off."

    8. Gossip Girl (2007–2012)

Dan revealing he's Gossip Girl: "I'd overheard enough conversations to be able to mimic the language of the Constance girls."

    Alternative TV ending:

"I would have ended 'Gossip Girl' with Serena finally choosing Nate and marrying him, and Dan being exiled."

    9. Seinfeld (1989–1998)

Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer in the jail cell. Jerry: "The second button is the key button." George: "Haven't we had this conversation before?"

    Alternative TV ending:

"I would've ended it with Elaine and David Puddy getting married."
"All the characters who appeared in the original finale are still there, but as wedding guests."

    10. Modern Family (2009–2020)

Gloria, Alex, Haley, and the rest of the family gathering in for a group hug; Haley and Dylan kissing in an empty house

    Alternative TV ending:

"Haley should have been with Andy and continued working on her career."

    11. The Undoing (2020)

Henry to Jonathan: "You murdered a person, dad." Grace looking over at Henry in a different scene.

    Alternative TV ending:

"For 'The Undoing,' I thought it would have been much more interesting if the main character herself, Grace, was the killer and the whole series was her actually coming to that realization."

    12. Game of Thrones (2011–2019)

Jon Snow killing Daenerys in the last season of "Game of Thrones."

    Alternative TV ending one:

"The final season should've been split into two seasons. Part 1 would’ve ended with the aftermath of the battle with the White Walkers at Winterfell and Part 2 would've been only 6 or 7 episodes."

    Alternative TV ending two:

"Someone suggested that the last scene should've shown Drogon laying Dany's body down, breathing fire on her, and her waking up, kind of like how she brought the dragons into the world."

    13. Battlestar Galactica (2004–2009)

Lee and Starbuck saying goodbye to each other on a field

    Alternative TV ending:

"I would have had Starbuck and Lee Adama get together at the end of 'Battlestar Galactica.'"

    14. Fuller House (2016–2020)

Joey, Jesse, and Danny walking Kimmy, Stephanie, and DJ down the aisle

    Alternative TV ending:

"I wish they had kept Stephanie's storyline going as it was instead of adding a surprise pregnancy."

    15. Hart of Dixie (2011–2015)

Zoe and Wade getting married as Zoe is about to give birth. Wade to Zoe: "You've turned my damn world upside down, but you made me a better man. I'm excited to be your husband."

    Alternative TV ending:

"Annabeth should have been single and completing her nursing studies at the end, rather than going to Nashville with George."

    16. My Name is Earl (2005–2009)

Darnell explaining to Joy and Earl that he's not Earl Jr.'s father

    Alternative TV ending:

"'My Name Is Earl' should have just ended with Earl continuing to make amends for his mistakes."

    17. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993–1996)

Kira and Jake embracing as they look out at a comet

    Alternative TV ending:

"Let's rewrite 'Star Trek: Deep Space Nine' to get rid of Ezri Dax, the Breen plotline, and the absolutely ridiculous messiah ending"

    18. And How I Met Your Mother (2005–2014)

Ted reading to Tracy on her deathbed; Ted arriving to Robin's with a blue French horn

    Alternative TV ending:

"It would've been cool to see Robin and Barney's need of independence getting in the way of their marriage."
"We'd still see the span of Ted and Tracy’s relationship via the time jumps, but we'd also see her funeral and Ted processing her death."

    In conclusion:
