We all have movies from our childhood that we can watch over and over again.
However, as we rewatch them with adult eyes, it's hard to ignore the depressing and horrifying underlying themes that seem to run through a lot of movies aimed toward children.
Maybe you realized that real human adults with functioning brains willingly sent James to live with his verbally and physically abusive aunts after his parents WERE EATEN BY A RHINOCEROS in James and the Giant Peach.
Or that the corrupt judicial system that was trying to destroy Toontown to build a freeway was a blatant example of extreme gentrification in Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
Or maybe you realized that the bad guys in The Goonies were not trying to capture the children just to give them a ~stern talking-to~ and were leaning more towards the angle of, "We're going to straight-up murder you.
