25 Things For Anyone Who Is A Self-Identified Shoe Hoarder

Think your shoe collection could give Carrie Bradshaw a run for her money? Well, here are some products you'll be thanking us for later (and no, they're not more shoes).

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

    1. A sneaker cleaner that'll take even your most rough-looking pair of shoes and help them become presentable again. It even comes with a brush for scrubbing the dirt away.

The cleaner is super concentrated, so a little goes a long way!

Promising review: "I have had my Nike Roshe runs for about a year now, and I don't go easy on them. I play sports and run in the dirt with them all the time, but I also like to wear them for fashion purposes. Pink Miracle helped restore my daily shoes to look like I just bought them — now I can wear them for even longer. Very pleased with Pink Miracle, I will buy it again when I run out of my bottle." —Romario

Get it from Amazon for $19.97.

    2. Clear drop-front shoeboxes to make your collection look neat and tidy, while still being able to easily see and access every pair.

BuzzFeed editor's clear shoe boxes stacked four across and 13 high filled with sneakers in her bedroom
    Kayla Boyd / BuzzFeed

I kept putting off buying these shoeboxes because they are definitely a pricier route if you have a lot of shoes. But I decided to go for it and purchase the boxes in chunks — it's hands-down the best purchase I've made all year! Living in a small NYC apartment, I could never find a way to store all of my sneakers in a way that wasn't damaging or wouldn't have them be out of sight (then I would honestly never wear them). After trying tons of different racks over the years, this is the first option that I've ever been 100% satisfied with. It looks great, even in my small bedroom, I can see and access all of my sneakers, and the boxes are extremely sturdy. I am obsessed with my shoe wall.

Promising review: "My boyfriend and I are real shoppers, from clothes to household items and most importantly SNEAKERS! We have run into a problem with shoeboxes breaking from the weight of stacking them and these drop-front shoeboxes...well they are our Best Buy EVER! They stack perfectly, they don't lean, they inner lock with each other so they don't slide off. They are durable, clear fronts make it easy to see our sneakers, and just an amazing product. We have purchased about 100 of these and are ordering more! I am in LOVE with these drop-front shoeboxes and I tell everyone about them." —SneakerheadMinda

    3. U-lace shoelaces (if they look familiar it's because they were on Shark Tank!) to turn your sneakers into convenient slip-ons, without ruining their look. With a huge shoe collection, it's easy to only reach for the more "convenient" pairs, but thanks to these laces, those expensive sneakers that have been hiding in the back will be SO much easier to throw on!

U-lace is a Black-owned business founded by Tim Talley. He wanted to create shoelaces that could turn your fave sneakers into slip-ons. Not only do the laces make it extremely easy to put your shoes on and take them off, but they're also available in a ton of cool prints and colors that can really elevate the look.

Promising review: "Love the ease of putting these on my shoes without the need to tie them and love the color options!!!" —Ramon T.

    4. A freestanding organizer with three fabric shelves and two bins to give you an extra place for the shoes that just won't fit in your closet (no matter how many times you try to wrestle them in).

reviewer's organizer, which has shoes on two shelves and the two bins on the bottom shelf

Promising review: "I really like this product. Fits perfectly in my closet for some additional storage and makes it look super neat. Assembly was a breeze, took about 5-10 minutes by myself in order to complete it." —Kyndra

Get it from Amazon for $25.82.

    5. A pair of fragrance- and chemical-free odor eliminators you can stick right into your shoes chilling by the door to avoid any smelly aromas.

The charcoal bags in a pair of shoes

These charcoal bags can absorb excess moisture to prevent mold, mildew, and bacteria from forming on your clothes, shoes, and in your bag. To re-charge them, just stick 'em out in the sun for a bit.

Promising review: "I bought these to use in my car. We have been going to play in a river a lot lately, and after a few weekends of the family being in the car with damp clothes, and water shoes, my little Hyundai has started to smell bad. I am a big Ozium user, and even the Ozium didn't permanently rid the car of the sour smell that had developed it. I placed a charcoal bag on the floor in the front, one on the floor in the back, and one in the trunk after coming home Saturday after another day playing in the river. I did not use the car again until Monday morning. When I got in the car, I noticed that the bad smells were gone. I didn't notice any chemical-like smell that I have noticed with some other charcoal filters. All I could smell was my not-so-strong air freshener! So far I am very happy with these, and will be buying more to place in my home office, and some other areas of the house!" —George

    6. A set of compression sleeves that can help give your feet extra support and alleviate pain so you can enjoy your fabulous shoe collection even more.

Reviewer with the compression sleeves over the arches of their feet

The copper-infused compression fabric gives you support while still allowing you to have your range of motion. The added support is often used to help people with fallen arches, flat feet, heel, toe, ball of foot or bunion pain, tailor's bunion, plantar fasciitis, plantar fascial fibromatosis, arthritis, and heel spurs.

Promising review: "I love these. Out of the blue, I developed some pain that I assumed was plantar fasciitis. I was dreading wearing clunky shoes and insoles around the house. Enter these bizarre little bands. Whatever hocus-pocus is going on here, I'm a believer. I wore them faithfully for a week or so and my pain is gone. Maybe they aren't for everyone, but they sure worked for me." —Frankenmuth

Get a set of two from Amazon for $13.95.

    7. A pair of heel stoppers for preventing your heels from sinking into the grass or getting stuck in rocks. No more using broken or dirty heels as an excuse to buy three more pairs! (Trust me, your closet can't handle it.)

BuzzFeed editor's heel with a clear heel stopper on it
    Elizabeth Lily / BuzzFeed

BuzzFeed editor Elizabeth Lilly wore these as a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding. Here are her thoughts:

"When my friend asked me to be a bridesmaid and I learned I'd be walking on grass for the ceremony, I got a bit worried. What's a klutz with a high center of gravity to do while trying not to 1) fall down in front of approximately 150 guests or 2) keel over while quietly stifling tears during her friends' vows? Buy some Heel Stoppers, that's what! I was able to easily slip them onto the glitter-encrusted heels (and later remove them with no damage to the heels).

On the day of the ceremony, these sturdy pieces of plastic made the heels much easier to walk in and prevented me from aerating the lawn. My feet still hurt to high heavens because those gorgeous shoes don't have a lot of support for a seldom stiletto-wearer like me. Out of all the dough I spent on my bridesmaid ensemble, these were the biggest bang for my buck!"

Get them from Amazon for $9.99 (available in four sizes).

    8. A set of two waterproof nylon travel shoe bags to keep your babies (aka your favorite shoes) from getting dirty on trips, in your gym bag, or any other time you need to pack 'em up.

A reviewer's pair of sneakers inside the travel bag

Promising review: "These bags are great. I easily put women's size eight Under Armour running shoes and flip-flops inside with room for another pair of flat sandals. I shoved my husband's size 11 running shoes and his flip-flops in another. The set comes with four bags that are a simple black color with good zippers and the ability to hang them by the handle/tab on one end. The ultimate test was when I laid a bag in the sink and sprayed it with water. Inside is dry!" —DeniceAZ

Get them from Amazon for $9.99+ (available in three quantities and two styles).

    9. A water-and-stain-repellent shoe spray, because that rain and snow has NO RIGHT to ruin your brand new pair of suede booties!

The can of water and stain repellent shoe spray

Promising review: "Works great. I sprayed them three times with an hour between each spray. It puts an invisible lining on the shoe to block from liquids and stains. It’s been two weeks and they don’t have any marks and that’s surprising because they are very white shoes." —john Farmiloe III

Get it from Amazon for $13.08.

    10. A pack of no-show socks to solve the problem of sweaty, sticky feet when you wear your flats or other shoes that just don't look right with your typical white ankle socks. That way you can finally get some use out of all those chic loafers you just *had* to have.

reviewer wearing the no-show socks in black

Promising review: "I wear flats, mostly a canvas shoe, every day to work. I cannot wear shoes without socks but it has been a struggle to find some no-peek socks that don't slip off my heel all day. I'm SUPER happy with these!!! I will be buying more! They are thin enough that they don't feel bulky inside my shoe but they are low enough across my toes that I don't have to readjust them throughout the day, and they have not slipped off my heel AT ALL. I've been wearing these for about two weeks." —Nmpollard

Get them from Amazon for $11.99.

    11. A fabric marker kit for breathing new life into those worn-but-loved canvas sneakers you've been holding on to since sixth grade. I understand, they have "sentimental value."

Promising review: "I'm ordering more! I bought these to use on shoes to decorate (I'm a teacher) and I love them! They're easy to use and there are bright colors." —Josey

    Get a 20-pack from Amazon for $12.96.

    12. Or a leather paint set to help you totally customize your kicks with a fresh paint job. Everyone will be asking where you found that unique colorway.

Promising review: "I was a bit skeptical of a shoe specific paint — it seemed more marketing hoodoo than a real improvement over other paints — but I was mistaken. This stuff rocks! It works well with stencils and brushes, has good opacity, great adhesion, and remains flexible when it dries. When combined with Angelus Paint 2-Thin, you can use it in any fillable paint pen. You lose some opacity but gain the ability to do longer continuous lines before needing more paint compared to a brush. I look forward to working on a few other projects with this paint." —Xaq F.

Get it from Amazon for $36 (12 colors available in a multipack).

    13. An Air Jordan 1 soy candle with notes of mandarin balm, tangelo, and eucalyptus that'll definitely help mask the not-so-pleasant aroma your pile of shoes have caused to linger in your bedroom.

Tried to break them in by stretching them, etc. still rubbed my heels raw. Thought I’d give these a go before giving up on the shoes altogether. Amazing! Wore my flats for several hours today. No pain. No raw skin." —Kip Karter

Promising review: "Worked like magic! I had a brand-new Calvin Klein suede purse. I took it to dinner at a Mexican restaurant, and it came back with grease streams down one side. I was devastated. I figured I'd try this brush before taking it to a professional. Seriously y'all — a few swipes with this brush cleaner and you couldn't tell there was previously a stain. 10 stars!" —Runnwme

I wasn’t sure if the pockets in the organizer would be large enough for my Crocs, but they fit perfectly when I put the shoes in heel first. (For reference: my Crocs are women’s size 9). I was able to get two pairs of sneakers in the last two sets of pockets as well. The pockets seem to be well made, and I’m confident that this shoe organizer will last." —A. Roach
