Scary Clowns That Will Make You Never Go To The Circus Again

1. Pennywise

Pennywise is technically a shapeshifting demonic entity who lives underground in the sewers and comes up about every 30 years. He prefers to prey on children, as they are easy targets, therefore settling on the form of a clown.

2. Captain Spaulding

The clown that runs the gas station in the middle of nowhere with the Dr. Satan ride in the back? Maybe you don't trust him. Especially when you find out his children are psychopathic maniac killers.

3. Twisty

American Horror Story brought us Twisty; a talented, loving clown who loved performing tricks for children. He was, however, mentally handicapped. As the number one performer at the circus, some of the other performers decided to play a trick and spread rumors that Twisty was molesting the children. He tried to kill himself but was unsuccessful, disfiguring his whole lower jaw. Twisty made himself a mask and set up his own shows for the children killing the parents who got in his way.

4. Kent

Dimension Films and Anchor Bay Entertainment

Kent was just your average family man trying to juggle work and his family responsibilities. After his son's birthday party clown gets double booked, he saves the day when he puts on an old clown costume he finds in a house under construction. After falling asleep in the costume he soon discovers that it will not come off and the cursed outfit begins to turn him evil. In 2010 director Jon Watts uploaded a fake trailer for CLOWN onto YouTube and credited it as "from Master of Horror Eli Roth." However, Roth had nothing to do with it. Eli began getting bombarded with calls and emails saying how much people loved the trailer for "his new film." After watching it, Roth tracked down Watts and told him how much he loved it which Watts responded with "Thank you for not suing me." and Roth responded with '"This is Hollywood...we only sue each other after the film's a success.'" The rest is history, Roth helped Watts develop it into a feature film for Dimension Films and Hollywood has taken notice of Watts who is completing directing SPIDER-MAN: HOMECOMING.

5. Pogo

John Wayne Gacy, AKA Pogo, was a real life serial killer who murdered children in the 1970s. He would dress as a clown at charitable services and fundraising events and became known as the "killer clown." His heinous crimes have inspired countless films and urban legends.
