Don't spend your life focusing on your past regrets; learn from them. Use those lessons to plan how you want your future to look, but at the same time, don't forget that you still live in the present. Take the time to enjoy today even as you're working to make tomorrow better.

Sometimes it can feel like things have completely fallen apart and there's no way to put it all back together. But you can and you will. No, the result won't look exactly the same as before, but the best thing about starting from scratch is that you can build your life to look exactly how you want. Starting over is just the first step, and there will be many more.

This is not the end of your story, merely the beginning of a new chapter.

Confucius was a smart dude. The most successful and permanent progress is almost always incremental, which means you sometimes won't always notice it happening. But just keep working and trying and eventually you will see results.

It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.

These words from author Najwa Zebian perfectly describe how you've been treating your problems. You are carrying around a lot of unnecessary pain that is best left in the past; that way, you'll be ready to face any future obstacles. Sometimes it's OK to let things go.

These mountains that you are carrying, you were only supposed to climb.

You think that if you expect the worst to happen, then you'll never be disappointed. But has this tactic really stopped you from feeling disappointed? Probably not. All you've done is imagined you feel bad before you _actually_ had to feel bad. While being optimistic doesn't protect you from disappointment, it does help to prevent you from feeling bad before you actually need to.

If you imagine the worst and it happens, then you've lived it twice.
