The right people don't want you to sacrifice your personal happiness just to please them. You can't properly support someone if you don't take care of yourself first, and you should stop sacrificing the things you need just to make everyone around you happy.

Don't set yourself on fire to keep someone else warm

It's important to focus on your wants first sometimes, and martyring yourself for other people won't automatically make them prioritize you. You are allowed to set boundaries and be a little bit selfish once in a while, and the right people will understand and value you regardless.

Someone doesn't need to be in your life forever in order to be important

Are you hung up on doing things perfectly? Are you paralyzed when it comes to making progress because you think you'll make a mistake? Well, something imperfect that's finished is FAR better than some imaginary perfect thing that never gets done. Learn to accept imperfections!

Anything worth doing is worth doing badly

When you focus and worry on all the things around you that you have no control over, the world can seem impossible. When you accept that you can only control yourself and how you respond to uncontrollable things, things may seem much more manageable.

Focus only on what you can control
