Andy's Friends In "The Devil Wears Prada" Were The Fucking Worst

THEY'RE GARBAGE PEOPLE.

As ~everyone~ knows, The Devil Wears Prada is one of the most important films ever made. And for anyone who questions that...

Miranda Priestly — the cold, confident, brilliant, and demanding editor of Runway magazine — is EVERYTHING.

And Andy becomes a badass bitch in her own right.

But Andy's friends are THE FUCKING WORST.

Oh, they have zero problems with Andy's job when she's giving them free stuff.

How's that FREE Marc Jacobs bag that Andy so generously gave you, Lily?

But then when Miranda calls Andy's phone (the ~very chic for 2006~ T-Mobile Sidekick), they literally jeopardize her career by playing keep-away with it!

And the second Andy starts progressing in her career and evolving as a person, they get pissy with her.

Lily's all, "The Andy I know is madly in love with Nate, is always five minutes early, and thinks, I don’t know, Club Monaco is couture."

Yeah, and now Andy is rethinking her relationship with her lame-o boyfriend, has better things to do than be on time for your little photo thingy, and has learned how to dress appropriately for her job. THINGS CHANGE, LILY. Andy can't stay the same forever just to make you comfortable.

And speaking of Andy's lame-o boyfriend: Nate. FUCKING NATE.

First, he MOCKS Andy's fashion sense when he should be celebrating the fact that his girlfriend, you know, OBTAINED A HIGHLY COVETED JOB.

Then he gets all butthurt when Andy does start dressing better.

Then he sulks like a tiny little baby man because Andy had to miss his birthday party because of HER IMPORTANT JOB THAT IS VITAL TO HER FUTURE CAREER.

Hey, Nate, sometimes grownups have professional commitments that prevent them from attending your birthday party. Shit happens.

And you definitely didn't have to stomp off to the bedroom like a petulant child.

What did he want Andy to do? Jeopardize her job just to make it to his birthday on time?

EVEN EMILY, who is awesome through so much of this movie, actually wants Andy to quit Runway instead of taking her place in Paris.

What is wrong with these people?!

You do you, Andy. You just keep on ~slaying~ it professionally.
