In response to an increasing number of urine-soaked walls, the two Hackney councils are trialing a new special liquid repellent coating, that will ricochet straight off the wall and straight back to the offender.
Hackney council spends on average £100,000 a year cleaning urine from its walls. The latest technology hopes to stop the pee smells, and stains on the walls.
The technology, made by US company UltraTech, creates an invisible barrier, over the air of the surfaces.
Saving a hefty £99,000, the treatments have reportedly cost the council £1,000.
But will it really prevent pissers? After all, when you gotta, go... You gotta go.
