A Fan Made An Impressive Animated Version Of "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"

Artist Stephen Byrne's The Animated Adventures of Buffy proves that this cartoon needs to happen ASAP.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer, which went off the air in 2003, gets an animated overhaul in artist Stephen Byrne's opening credit sequence for The Animated Adventures of Buffy.

Sadly, this is not a real show, but at least it proves that an animated Buffy show could work EXTREMELY WELL.

Yep, the gang's all here: Xander, Willow, Angel, Spike, Giles, Buffy, and Dawn.

It also seems to have tied in the world of Angel, as the brooding vamp can be seen here in puppet form, just like he was in the fifth Angel season. Also, bonus points if you can get the villains referenced in the paintings behind them.

Even ::sniff:: Tara can be accounted for, albeit in ghost form.

What's great is that it seems to continue from where the show left off, as evidenced by Xander rocking the eyepatch he wore after losing an eye in the last season.

So, on behalf of all Buffy fans, I say, "MAKE THIS A REAL THING, UNIVERSE*!"

*And by universe I mean Joss Whedon.
