As of this morning, the photo of the "Pashtun Papa" costume had been removed from Walmart's site, though you can still technically buy it on the site.

But while the photo is down, the description for the costume remains.

It appears that Wal-mart took the copy directly from Costume Kingdom's website.

Nevermind that the Pashtun live mainly in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Which is, you know, NOT ACTUALLY THE MIDDLE EAST.

Brooke Buchanan, senior director of Walmart Corporate Communications, told BuzzFeed News that the costume is actually sold via a Costume Kingdom, which is one of Walmart's third-party vendors, and wasn't vetted directly by Walmart.

"When it was brought to our attention on social media, we began working to pull this down. We are deeply sorry that this costume is on our website, and we are pulling it down as soon as possible. We are calling on all of the other retailers to pull it down as well."

"We have strict policies with our third party vendors, and It's very important to us that products on the site don't offend groups of people, or minorities."

When asked about the "Arab Sheik" costume, Buchanan said she wasn't familiar with the costume.

Walmart has suspended the marketplace seller and has removed all of their items.

An email to Costume Kingdom were not immediately returned.
