@tarang_chawla Based on our history I’d suggest anyone and anything successful from New Zealand.😉

6.
@PeterWMurphy1 @tarang_chawla “A Fair Go” - without having the correct colour skin?

@tarang_chawla Fosters Lager... I mean it is technically Australian, but no self respecting Australian would be caught dead drinking it.

@tarang_chawla Tobias Drundridge and dollarydoos

@tarang_chawla “We are one but we are many” - diversity. Racism is a core Australian value . It was Federal Policy for decades. Now we are told we always accepted migrants from all over and we never destroyed First Australians . We are racists.
12.
@tarang_chawla Thongs. aka flip-flops. aka Jandals. They were invented in NZ, and styled after Japanese sandals - hence the name ‘Jandals’. Australia got them from NZ almost immediately and began making our own. (Brazil and their stupendously overpriced Havaianas copies can bugger off! 😤🤣)

@tarang_chawla Play School (The original format idea was a UK kids show made by the BBC)
15.
@tarang_chawla True blue - 'True blue' is supposed to derive from the blue cloth that was made at Coventry, England in the late middle ages. ... The phrase 'as true as Coventry blue' originated then and is still used (in Coventry at least).

@tarang_chawla “How good is Australia”

@tarang_chawla “Shrimp on a barbie”. They’re not shrimp. They’re prawns. And traditionally they never went near a barbecue. We bought them raw and boiled them in vast quantities. That entire ad campaign was designed to appeal to septic tanks (Yanks) and it was a national embarrassment 🙈.

@tarang_chawla According to my kiwi boyfriend: Phar lap, pavlova, lamingtons, crowded house, and a bunch more that I'm sure I'm forgetting. Apparently we can keep Russel Crowe though 🙄
20.
@tarang_chawla "Aussie Aussie Aussie" - originated in the UK.

@tarang_chawla Also bush babies/galagos. They just look like they belong here.
23.
@tarang_chawla Not giving a shit. It's seen as Aussie culture to shrug our shoulders and take life as it comes and goes. Truth is, most of us give very much of a shit about a great many things.
24.
@tarang_chawla Chucking a u-ey. Imagine my surprise when an American friend used the phrase!
