There's nothing us Aussies love more than to marvel at the varied nuances of American culture.
Across the series of seven clips — called "What I noticed as an Australian living in America" — Clare breaks down some of the most bizarre things she observed as an Aussie abroad.
To begin, Clare says she was dumbfounded by the taste and texture of nacho cheese: "Your cheese ain't right — cheese shouldn't be able to be pumped! I remember I went to Taco Bell and I ordered cheese nachos and that came out — and I was like, cheese isn't a sauce!"
"You call what I assume are scones 'biscuits' and they can be, like, breakfast food," she continues. "But they're scones, so you think it has jam or butter on it and then you put gravy on it!?"
"Chowder looks and tastes exactly like vomit."
"I will say, your snacks are god level," Clare concedes. "There were these purple Doritos and I still don't know what they are and I have only ever had them in America."
When it comes to the dining experience in the US, Clare blasts the tipping culture: "You clearly don't get told this enough, but tipping is bullshit. You can have a hospitality industry where people just get paid enough for the work they do and it's not on the customer to pay them for working."
"Not a big deal, but you do use all the wrong terms for your food," she continues. "[In Australia], we have entrée, main, dessert. You have appetisers and then entrées, but entrées are the main? Just call it main."
When it comes to the hot topic of American bread, Clare reveals: "Your bread isn't bread, your bread is cake. It tastes like cake, it looks like cake — I couldn't eat your bread. It's too sweet, it's not grainy, it's cake."
"While we're on that, your coffee is not coffee, it's dirt water. I did not get a good coffee in 12 months…it just wasn't right, it was burnt."
