Aussies Are Sharing The Subtle Signs That Indicate A Person Is Stinking Rich And It's Painfully Relatable

Going to the movies as a kid, you either bought or BRought snacks — and there was a huge difference.

It's the age-old irony that still rings true today — when you grow up rich, you may not always know that you're rich, but you can bet your pampered, four-ply wiped ass, that everyone around you knows.

Oftentimes, when you were a kid, you'd go to a mate's house and pick up on the subtle differences that indicated they were...how you might say, filthy rich — and as an adult, a lot of those signs of wealth still apply.

So says one Australian TikToker, Clare Stephens, who began a hilarious series of videos calling out low-key things that make you rich in Australia.

In the videos, Clare calls out the most common signs of wealth in Australia, with other Aussies adding in their observations in the comments. Here are some of our faves:

    1. "Having a Foxtel package where you have everything — and having it in more than one room."

    2. "Viennetta as a normal dessert and not just for special occasions."

    3. "Having one of those Country Road bags and/or a whole lot of Country Road clothes."

    4. "When I was a kid, I knew someone was rich when their parents bought school uniforms that weren't five sizes too big that they'd 'grow into'."

    5. "Having a two story house, having an electric gate, in-ground pool, holidays overseas, pay TV, free-standing bathtub, second living room."

    6. "A dishwasher with a cutlery tray, rather than the thing with the compartment at the bottom — you're rich if you’ve got that."

    7. "[Growing up], you flew Qantas and as an adult you exclusively fly Qantas and you've got lots of points."

    8. "When you went to a theme park or Easter show or any fair…you bought lunch and drinks and snacks there."

    9. "Shopping at David Jones."

    10. "Being allowed to get a Magnum ice cream at the beach, rather than a Splice, Calippo, or Paddle Pop."

    11. "Having branded food items and not home-brand tomato sauce and mustard among other things."

    12. "When I went to a friend's house and all the lights were on, instead of just the lights for the room we're in."

    13. "A bidet, that no one has ever used."

    14. "I think most people had lolly bags, but the rich people had like full fun size choccies and packs of chips in them and the little Nutella tub too."

    15. "The kids who had surf brand backpacks and matching pencil cases."

    16. "People who got multiple show bags at the Easter show and you'd see them walking around and they could hardly hold them, two hands full of show bags. RICH."

    17. "Any kid that got lunch orders, oh my gosh! They were rich, rich kids. [Also] kids that went to Timezone."

    18. "People who buy the tomatoes with the vines/stem still attached to them."

    19. "People that have a second fridge just for drinks…a drink fridge. So rich."

    20. "Bottle of champagne chilling in the fridge, just in case something comes up for you to celebrate."

    21. "It was the attached garage, for me, with internal access — then they'd never use their front door."

    22. "People who have soft drink cans in their fridge."

    23. Or "You have sparkling water in your fridge."

    24. "A Dyson fan, a pool, skylights."

    25. And finally: "Buying popcorn at the movies. Especially if you got a drink and choc top too! My mum always packed us snacks."
