Aussies Will Recognise These Iconic Food Combos, But The Rest Of The World Will Be Perplexed By Them

Do we actually enjoy Weetbix and butter, or are we just masochists?

If you're an Australian, then you already have a deep and intimate relationship with our iconic cuisine. When it comes to our food, we do have a bit of a reputation for being, well, a little bit cooked.

Boyfriend and I are reading a Buzzfeed article about Australian food and it all looks so gross what even is Australia

To non-Australians, our beloved national cuisine can cause confusion, outrage and even disgust. But we're unapologetic in our approach to food and we'll pretty much give any two flavour pairings a go.

Only fools dip their chips in sweet 'n' sour sauce.

    12. Dry Weetbix and butter

    13. White bread and tinned spaghetti

Because who can refuse a double-serving of carbs?

    14. A cob loaf, plus whatever filling you can dream up

I just remembered this appalling/amazing garlic bread 4 cheese cob loaf I made last year

Once reserved for a mixture of spinach, sour cream and French onion soup seasoning (an '80s classic), the iconic Australian cob loaf has evolved into so many variations, it's hard to pick a favourite.

    15. Beetroot and burgers

    16. Chicken salt and hot chips

    17. A roast chook and a tub of coleslaw

    18. Ginger beer and ice cream

    19. And finally, a Tim Tam and a cuppa tea
