Five were injured in New Jersey after an escalator inexplicably reversed course. The footage isn't funny. Not funny at all. Stop laughing!

The malfunction reportedly happened shortly after 9 a.m. on Monday. Port Authority spokesman Ron Marsico told the New York Times' City Room that the injuries at Jersey City's Exchange Place PATH station weren't life-threatening — "mostly bumps, bruises, scrapes."
