Students returned to their old desks and abandoned backpacks Thursday at the redesigned Chalk Hill School.

The classrooms at Chalk Hill in Monroe, Connecticut, have reportedly been refurnished to look like Sandy Hook's, complete with students' old desks.

The backpacks, coats and lunch boxes that were left behind during the shooting were also brought in to the new building.

The 500 Sandy Hook students will return to school under the guidance of Donna Page, the principal who served before Dawn Hochsprung, who was gunned down on Dec. 14.
