Sgt. Pepper’s Relic

The hand painted bass drum skin featured on the cover of the Beatles’ Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band sells for over $1,000,000 in auction.

The relic was auctioned at Christie’s of London, and ultimately sold for four times its expected value. Touted as “the world’s most famous drum skin,” the piece is nothing short of a pop culture holy grail. The proud owner currently has it stretched over his Yamaha bass drum in his basement ready for full use…I jest.
