Sure, setting your alarm for 5am isn't always the nicest feeling, but trust us, watching the sunrise will make you forget the brutal early morning wakeup call. Leave your phone in your bag, drive out to a viewpoint, and just sit and listen to the world come to life around you.

A long walk in the countryside is sometimes all you need to reset yourself – check the weather forecast, call up a fellow walking friend, pick a route that will work for your abilities, and pack some snacks and plenty of water before you set off.

Whether you find a pool, hot tub, the sea or a wild swimming area, a relaxing dip in a body of water will reset and refresh you. When you're in the water, take a moment to relax, listen to it sloshing around you, and feel your worries drift away from you.

it's time to invite all your friends and family around to your garden or a local park to enjoy a genteel picnic. Cocktail sausages, mini sandwiches and slices of cake are all welcome here, as well as a G&T or two.

Ask some friends to join you in taking a day out to pamper yourselves with some super easy at-home spa day activities. A bucket of water and some nice oils can act as a foot spa, a playlist of relaxing music can set the tone for the day, and a shoulder rub chain is an easy (and inexpensive) way to get that fancy spa experience at home.

Inspired by the Olympics? Take that inspiration and turn it into a friends and family sports day event. Set a schedule that includes a classic egg and spoon race, some improvised hurdles, and throwing competitions.
