We adopted Nancy—the fluffy white one in no. 11—from Terrier SOS, and are thinking of adopting another dog whom we’ve been looking after for a while. The charity, and the woman who runs it, the indefatigable Diana Brusi, does some wonderful work, but we need more people to get involved, as it’s pretty much a one (wo)man operation at the moment. Do take a look if you’ve even the slightest inkling of fostering or adopting a dog.

A fair few of these are wrong, especially the ones that distinguish between sweet and dry vermouth. Take, for instance, a Manhattan: you can request it sweet, dry, or perfect, with different vermouths in each variant.
