    1. A 48-needle meat tenderizer that'll help even the toughest cuts turn out tender and juicy by 1) breaking down connective tissues that make meat tough and chewy, and 2) creating tiny channels in the meat to allow marinades to be fully absorbed in as little as five minutes *and* allow heat to penetrate more quickly so you can reduce cooking time by up to 40% — which will help the meat retain those precious juices and keep it from drying out!

The meat tenderizer pressing into a piece of meat

Promising review: "This wonder tool does an awesome job tenderizing meat....from the largest standing rib roast all the way down to the skinniest pork chop or round steak. Those of you who like to marinate your meat will find this tool to be a God-sent savior as it provides hundreds of holes for the marinade and spices to soak into. I used to pound my chops with a metal mallet until there were holes right through it, and the poor pork chop was only a mere third of its original thickness. NO MORE! Now I use my Klemoo to poke a thousand holes on each side and the thickness never changes, but you can cut it with a fork when done. I use it on all meats: beef, pork, veal...even chicken and turkey. It works wonders!" —Wet Bruce

Get it from Amazon for $13.99.

    2. A panini press grill that makes it quick and easy to achieve perfectly pressed sandwiches, quesadillas, and much more — no flipping required! You can even use the lock top lid to warm things like personal pizzas and open-face sandwiches!

Promising review: "This thing is amazing! I had never used the Sous Vide method before. The control is amazing. The first time I used it, I ran two New York strips up to 130° for one hour, then seared them in a pan. My wife was more than pleased. Amazed even. Apparently, this method is backed by culinary witchcraft. I bought this in a combo pack that gave me this and a vacuum sealer. The app is simple to use, easy to connect, but completely unnecessary if you aren’t into that sort of thing. But, it does make it easy to check in on the operation from the sofa. You can also send preloaded recipes from the phone to the circulator with a click. If you are interested in trying this style of cooking, this seems like a great entry point." —Lester McGowan

I think the real question is 'What can’t it do?' I truly believe you could replace every cooking appliance (including your oven and stovetop) and do EVERYTHING in the Instant Pot. I purchased two sizes for my own use: the three-quart (which is my almost-every-day workhorse for two-person dishes) and the eight-quart (which I bring out to handle bigger dishes). Everything I’ve tried has been fabulous. In the realm of kitchen appliances, there is no better investment than the Instant Pot. Highly recommended!!!" —Stereoman

I try to limit my monthly food expenditures, and the Fasta Pasta helps me work in at least one inexpensive pasta meal every week, if not more. First of all, I like spaghetti, but I'm lazy and impatient and don't like things that take a long time to make, with a bunch of steps, and a big cleanup afterward. The Fasta Pasta is perfect for me. I get the exact amount of correctly measured spaghetti; it's faster than boiling water in a big pot then having to watch and stir the pasta; the pasta comes out perfectly cooked every time and the cleanup is a snap. I was very surprised at the size of the indentation for filling. I put in: a slice and a half of cooked bacon, some sliced peppers, and small chunks of cheddar cheese. DELICIOUS! No leakage on my George Foreman grill. Worked great. They are big burgers, so you might end up sharing. Enjoy! It's a great tool, at a great price. Also, in response to complaints I have read about pizza dough sagging through the holes in this pan, simply make sure your dough isn't too wet. Promising review: "This digital meat thermometer is the best I've ever had. I own others, but they are either too bulky to fit in the drawer or too hard to read. This one is small and lightweight; it's easy to pull out the probe and very easy to read the temperature. I purchased several as stocking stuffers for Christmas. They make a gift that will be appreciated for its size and ease of use, but most importantly, it will be a gift that gets used instead of put away in the closet." —Yardleydoc

Read our full review of the KitchenIQ knife sharpener!

Promising review: "Wow, this little gadget is pretty amazing! I have some old (expensive) nonserrated knives that are supposed to never need sharpening but unfortunately, lost their sharp edge long ago. I saw this gadget and decided to try it. I set the bottom of this gadget on the edge of the counter and ran one of the knives through the side labeled 'Coarse' about 10 times, then ran it through the side labeled 'Fine' another 8–10 times. Bingo! The knife was transformed back to its former high-dollar cutlery glory. I could hardly believe how effectively it had sharpened the knife, which I had been ready to throw away a week before. I've been happily sharpening all our knives and trying to add up in my head how much money I've saved by NOT having to buy another set of expensive knives. I don't know where else you can spend $6 and get this return for the money. Great score!" —Schelly L. Wagoner

The thermometer hanging from an oven rack

It reads between 60 and 580 degrees Fahrenheit.

Promising review: "I bought this after persistent frustration with my oven. I live in a rental apartment and my oven is pretty crappy. I was suspicious that it wasn't as hot as it claimed to be when I preheated it. This isn't such a big deal if you're just throwing a frozen pizza in the oven for 20 minutes, but I like to cook. I feel like my oven has been cheating on me. I needed to catch it in the act. Am I a crummy baker, or is my oven the culprit? So, I bought this thermometer. The result: My oven really does suck! When it beeps for 350 degrees, the thermometer reads 300 degrees. Goodbye, delicious chicken parmigiana; hello salmonella! Goodbye, carefully scheduled 7:30 p.m. dinner; hello, 8:15 p.m. apologies and wine on an empty stomach! This thermometer is like a private investigator who reassures you that you're not paranoid." —Jordan Taylor

Get it from Amazon for $8.49 (also available in versions for the refrigerator and freezer).

    24. An amazing Always pan designed to replace eight pieces of cookware so preparing a variety of dishes can be a lot less complicated.

    Our Place

Our Place is a WOC-founded brand bringing inventive cookware and kitchen products. You can braise, sear, steam, strain, sauté, fry, boil, and more with this pan. It does the same job as a fry pan, sauté pan, steamer, skillet, saucier, saucepan, nonstick pan, spatula, and spoon rest. The spatula is designed to fit neatly on the pan's handle. The pan is dishwasher-safe and only weighs 3 pounds.

Long, but worthwhile promising review: "I bought this pan not sure it was going to live up to the hype. Yeah, it was cute (I got the green color to match my kitchen color palette) but I've bought plenty of cute, millennial-branded products that turned out to be all style and no substance. How good could it be? It's phenomenal. I got it three weeks ago and since then the only time I've used a different pan was when the Always pan was already in use for one dish and I needed to cook something else.

The nonstick coating is great. Eggs don't stick! Dried-on sauce doesn't stick! Yesterday's oatmeal doesn't stick! It all just wipes off with almost no scrubbing, which is great, because I have no desire to put this pan in the dishwasher, because what if I need to cook something?!

The pan surface heats up really quickly! I cooked on my normal boring stove, and I was shocked how much faster my pasta water came to a boil.

The pan surface also heats really evenly, and is amazing at searing. I cooked steak in it last night, hoping I wasn't making a mistake by using nonstick instead of cast iron, but it gave the steaks a flawless sear, way more even than my cast-iron pan. I was super impressed.

I love the built-in spatula rest. So much. My only comment on the pan is that the hole in the spatula could be just a hair larger so that it doesn't require any leveraging to remove from the rest, but very minor complaint.

Love the steamer/strainer basket. Haven't used it for steaming yet, but love it for pasta. It's so much easier to just lift all the pasta out and leave the pasta water behind than carry the whole pan of boiling water over to the sink to pour out, all the while terrified that one of my cats will come in and get boiling water splashed on them or something.

I love the lid, especially the steam vent feature. It's really great for cooking grains.

Basically, this pan is totally worth what you spend on it. I'm moving in six months and I'm planning to donate most of my cookware when I do. Very confident that I won't miss any of it, thanks to this pan." —Abigail R.

Get it from Our Place for $145 (available in six colors).

The variety pack comes with two packs of Cuban Black Beans, Mexican Cowboy Beans, and Trini Chickpea Curry.

Promising review: "Who writes a review about beans? Somebody who loves beans but had given up on them, until now. This is a great product. Canned beans from my local supermarket are always a disappointment so I stopped getting them. I don't have time to cook beans myself but A Dozen Cousins beans are fresh and taste terrific.
