    1. A light saber umbrella so you can use the Force to fend off the rain.

A person holding the umbrella, which has a shaft that glows like a lightsaber

It's powered by three AAA batteries and has seven LED color options. There's an on/off button as well as a flashlight on the bottom!

Promising review: "This umbrella ROCKS! It was a gift for my husband. It dries quickly so he doesn't have to carry around a dripping umbrella. The 'saber' aspect of it has the option to choose a color or even have them alternate. They all look really vivid and beautiful, especially at night. The flashlight on the bottom is really helpful at night when we're walking our dog, too. My husband gets tons of comments on this umbrella, and I plan to buy more in the future. Really, it's the coolest umbrella ever." —TrivialShark388

    Amazon, Mallory Mower / BuzzFeed

Read one BuzzFeeder's full review of the Oculus Go!

Here's an excerpt: "Many of the games (at least the ones I've braved) are super satisfying in how simple they are. Wanna walk around a park and hang out with some dinosaurs? Sure. Spend 10 minutes watching a time-lapse of a breathtaking aurora? Yeah, I'm gonna. These apps don't need cheap tricks to trick your brain into being there. You're just... there. Like many of the games and apps available with Oculus Go, you control the direction of your person in Mount Wingsuit by turning with your head... it's almost as fun to watch people play this game as it is to actually be playing it." —Mallory Mower

Get it from Amazon for $339.97+ (available in two sizes).

    4. A Dyson hair dryer that uses innovative technology to dry hair much more quickly and quieter than other devices.,

I have thick wavy hair naturally and it usually takes an hour to completely dry my hair, but with this Dyson, my hair is dry and smooth within 30 minutes! I will forever love my Dyson!" —BentleySam

Get it from Nordstrom for $399 (available in two colors).

Promising review: "I dried my face with a white towel and there was not a speck of makeup left on the towel, and I didn't have a drop of mascara raccoon-eye look left on my face. This is the cleanest my face has ever been." —hine0108

Get it from Amazon for $119 (available in five colors).

    6. A seemingly magical stand that appears to use alien technology to hold your device securely in place without magnets or hooks.

An iPhone, held in place by the slanted tablet stand with no ledge to support it
    The Grommet

It has a nanofoam pad that uses micro-suction technology — thousands of microscopic suction cups create a vacuum seal when pressed against any device with a flat, metal surface. The mini version can support devices up to eight inches while the regular version supports devices up to 10.5 inches.

Promising review: "I work from home the majority of time. This ingenious device holds my cell phone for me at the perfect angle so I can see incoming texts, stream music, and check my personal emails. This firmly holds my phone but is still easy to disengage my phone when need be. I don’t know how I ever managed without it. It’s a desk necessity." —Tamara

Get it from The Grommet for $39.95+ or Amazon for $39.99+ (available in two sizes).

    7. A video game-inspired necklace that exudes an otherworldly glow so your friends will wonder if you're a time traveler from the future who is here to save the world.

    Amazon Handmade

Promising review: "It looks heavy, like something you would always be aware you're wearing, but the reality is it's light and airy. The glowing is cool, obviously, but it's also a nice necklace just to wear." —melanie

Get it from Soul Shards on Amazon Handmade for $21.

    8. A motion-sensor trash can that'll smoothly and quietly open up with a simple wave of your hand so you can feel like a magician every time you have to throw something away.

The stainless steel trash can placed next to a kitchen counter

Promising review: "I know, I know! It's crazy to be in love with a trash can, but I am. This thing is just great! Smooth, quiet, sleek — and the semi-round shape and footprint (size) was critical to where it could fit in my small kitchen! Now, you are talking to someone who, for years, never used a real trash can and only relied on loose grocery shopping bags for their trash. I didn't know what I was missing!" —Amazonshrimpy

Get it from Amazon for $139.84+.

    9. A reusable notebook that'll blast your handwritten notes and doodles straight to your preferred cloud service so you can save them forever. And once it's full, just throw it *in the microwave* to erase all of the pages at once so you can start fresh without constantly having to buy a new notebook!

It's only compatible with Pilot FriXion pens (one is included with the notebook).

Promising review: "I love it! I will admit that the transition from paper to digital when it comes to notes is not an easy one for me, but this is a fabulous way to sort of split the difference. You still have the action of writing (which I find really important in meetings and brainstorming sessions) but without the consumption of paper and countless notebooks. And, being able to throw things into the cloud makes them accessible no matter where you're working — handy." —Meredith

Get it from Amazon for $24.87+ (available in two sizes and nine colors).

    10. A motion-sensor toilet light because, in the future, you don't have to turn on the harsh, unforgiving light that'll wake you up completely when stopping by the bathroom in the middle of the night.

The toilet light glowing in 16 different colors

This LED toilet light has 16 colors that can work on a rotation or as a solid color.

Promising review: "This seemingly silly little gadget has turned out to be great! The light level (brightness) can be dimmed down if desired, and the color can be set to whatever you want, but the bottom line is that you don't need to turn on a bright overhead light (which wakes me up and makes me angry, not a good combination) when you need to go into the bathroom at night. Cleaning it is a breeze, too; what seems like it's going to be a problem...isn't. I can't recommend this toilet night light highly enough, and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Could be on the gift list this December." —Lee R. Gurr

Get it from Amazon for $8.99.

    11. A pair of cyclops sunglasses for anyone who wants to block out harmful UV rays while looking like they're visiting from the year 3000.,

Promising review: "I am an avid biker and runner, and these are my go-to glasses. They don't have the regular nose piece like most sunglasses that gets stuck in your hair if you push them up on your head, and they're so perfectly fit that I never have a problem with them sliding down my nose. Wrap around protection from bugs/wind/dust but also a nice air flow for ventilation. When I do push them up, I can easily wear them as a cool-looking hair band and no one is the wiser. I have two pairs (reflective blue and clear pink) and will be buying a few more colors soon. Absolutely love them." —LocketShark

Get it from Amazon for $8.99+ (available in 3 colors).

    12. A tiny Bluetooth speaker that has no business sounding as incredible as it somehow does.

A person holding the small cylindrical speaker between their fingers

It comes with a travel case.

Promising review: "Blown away by the sound quality put out from this tiny, inexpensive speaker. It's miniature in size but surprisingly heavy and well-built (I dropped it on a hard floor and didn't even get a dent or break it). Puts out sound nearly equal in quality to my more expensive $100 speakers. It paired very easily but doesn't have extra features like sound adjustment on the speaker directly — which is fine because it costs less than $20. There's no tinny quality to its audio output, it delivers full rich sound with good bass. Battery life is decent for such a low-cost speaker. I honestly have no complaints about this product. It's an amazing speaker for so little cost." —Alex

Get it from Amazon for $15.99+ (available in three colors).

    13. A robot vacuum that'll actually do an efficient job so you can take vacuuming off of your to-do list.

A child sleeping on the floor as the robot vacuum is running

This robo-vac has an infrared-sensor for evading obstacles and drop-sensing tech to avoid falls. It also automatically recharges so it's always ready to clean. It comes with a remote control (two AAA batteries included), charging base, AC power adapter, cleaning tool, an extra set of high-performance filters, four side brushes, and five cable ties. It can clean continuously for up to 100 minutes.

Promising review: "We are very pleased with our Eufy who we named Sneaky Pete because he is very quiet and can sneak up on you. We run him twice a day and are always surprised how much grime and pet hair he picks up. The instructions are simple and clear. Cleaning is super easy. He travels under beds and couches where we would not normally be able to reach with the traditional vacuum. After comparing all of the leading robo-vacs, we chose the Eufy because it was rated as high as expensive ones and was less than half of the cost. We chose well. Like all robo-vacs, Pete will become confused on an area that is black due to the anti-fall safety feature. Like a black patch of a rug. But, we don't hold that against him. Our dog is totally indifferent to Pete which is another pleasant surprise. We are very happy with our Eufy." —Dahna Brinkley

Get it from Amazon for $197.99+ (available in two colors).

    14. A space pen – it can write at any angle, even upside-down! You can use it to write underwater, in extreme temperatures, or even in zero gravity, if you find yourself often needing to jot something down in less than ideal conditions. In other words, yes it's basically that pen from Seinfeld.

The metal and rainbow-colored pen displayed on a table

The patented ink cartridge was designed by Paul Fisher for NASA in the 1960s! The rainbow titanium nitride coating is just a wonderful bonus because it looks cool and keeps the pen from tarnishing.

Promising review: "I keep this in my back pants pocket because it is small enough that I can do so. It gets sat on, dropped, and occasionally sent through the washing machine...and it is still as good as new.

I have had worn this pen on my person, daily, for the last FOUR YEARS, and the coating is as good as ever. It needs refills every once in a while, but other than that, no maintenance is needed." —Segv

Get it from Amazon for $58.65.

    15. An antioxidant-rich magnetic mask that'll help extract impurities and will lift right off with the included magnetic wand!,

Promising review: "I’ve seen a few videos about this mask and had to try it myself. It’s amazing! It’s fun, smells so good, and leaves my skin feeling soft. My skin has never felt this good, and I used to work for a high-end makeup retailer and have tried all the expensive creams and serums." —Jessymessy

Get it from Target for $24.

    16. A Bluetooth-powered ComBadge that hooks up to your phone, has a built-in mic for hands-free calls, will answer/end calls and play/pause audio when touched, and even chirps when you receive phone calls or use voice commands! Basically, a Trekkie's dream come true!

A person dressed in a Starfleet uniform pressing the Bluetooth ComBadge which appears to produce a chirping sound

Promising review: "Does what you want it to, impressive design! Fun to have, totally a toy but it’s a legit communicator. Strong magnet and you’ll feel so nerdishly fulfilled when you push that button." —Jeffrey A Bohlmann

Get it from Amazon for $59.99.

    17. A wireless pocket projector in case you wanna be able to whip a full-on cinema experience out of your pocket whenever and wherever you want.

    Yi Yang / BuzzFeed

I actually own and love this pocket projector. Despite its compact size, this little guy can actually project quite far (I tested it at 14 feet or so, and the image measures approximately 50 inches by 60 inches). I’ve used it to watch films and shows, and it truly feels like I have my own personal movie theater. (The darker the room, the clearer and crisper the images are, so I always use it at night with the lights out. However, blackout shades would work, too!) It can connect to a phone or computer, AND it has its own speakers (though you can connect it to an external speaker as well). For longer binge sessions, I like to have it plugged in so it doesn’t run out of juice, but it can last through a couple of 40-minute episodes unplugged just fine. The best part is once I’m done with it, it fits nicely into my drawers for storage. Easy peasy.

Get it from Amazon for $169.99.

    18. A metallic peel-off mask made with diamond and pearl powder that'll make you feel like you just stepped into a spa from outer space. It'll help exfoliate and brighten your skin, leaving you with the radiant glow of someone who has seen the future.

A person peeling the silver-colored mask off their face in one piece

Promising review: "One of the best peel-off masks I have used. The scent is really light and pleasant, not overpowering. Skin definitely looks brighter and more radiant after use. Does not irritate my very sensitive skin, and it actually peels off very easily!!! There is probably enough for about 10 total applications. Will absolutely be purchasing again!" —Jennifer S.

Get it from Amazon for $23.

    19. A magnetic balance light that looks like it was brought back in a time machine.

Promising review: "Love this lamp and it looks soooo cool. Have it on my desk, doesn’t use too much space and it works great." —Daniyela Banar

    20. A sleek and ergonomic stainless-steel spatula in case your boring old spatula isn't always up to the task.

It's dishwasher-safe. You can bend it and use it to get under pretty much anything.

Promising review: "This is a beautiful and extremely useful little spatula. Perfect for delicate treatments like crepes and also will fit in places other spatulas will not, while having the power to scrape or lift when you need it. Love it." —Andrea S.

Get it from Food52 for $30.

    21. A LED shower head that'll brightly display the water temperature so you can stop scalding your hand trying to find the perfect heat level every time.

Blue is cold (under 90 degrees Fahrenheit), green is warm aka just right (90–108 degrees Fahrenheit), red is hot (108–122 degrees Fahrenheit), and flashing red is super hot (over 122 degrees Fahrenheit).

Promising review: "I've had this for several months and wanted to give it some time before reviewing it. I LOVE this shower head! No more ice cold water or scalding burns when stepping into the shower and no more leaning into the shower with one hand in the water stream and the other hand adjusting the taps (my poor aching back) WAITING for the water to change temps. It also has great outflow pressure so I don't have to crank up the water on full, although that does make the light-up bit a little dimmer but that's okay. It just means it will work well with low water pressure and still light up, just not as bright. The slim head is chunky yet easy to grip and maneuver for my arthritic hands." —Rebecca

Get it from Amazon for $27.99.

    22. A makeup brush cleaner that'll do most of the work for you — and faster! It swirls your brushes in soapy water until leftover makeup, dead skin cells, dirt, and debris are gone, and then spins the brush until it's dry.

Promising review: "Works AMAZINGLY well! Had all my brushes clean and looking brand new in the time it normally would have taken to hand wash one brush. If you hate cleaning your brushes, then you need this product. So easy and fun! I only wish I would have bought this sooner!" —Tellie82

Get it from Amazon for $23.22.

    23. A bidet because the time has come to ~bidet~ sincere farewell to fully relying on toilet paper. This attachment is easy to install (no plumber needed!), will help you cut down your TP usage, and will make you feel so much cleaner and refreshed after going #2.

The bidet, attached to the side of a toilet

Read our full review of this bidet!

Promising reviews: "Speaking as a hirsute gentleman, the Luxe Bidet Neo 120 has soured me on pooping in bidet-less toilets forever. It's shown me the difference between rubbing peanut butter out of shag carpeting and that sparkling clean feeling you get right when you step out of the shower.

The unit took me all of about 10 minutes to install on my existing toilet with only a wrench. The easy-to-control flow valve allows for a full range of cleaning, from 'gentle trickling stream' to 'full-on Silkwood decontamination,' ensuring the end of your bowel movement leaves you feeling cleaner and more refreshed than using just toilet paper alone. Even flushable wet wipes pale in comparison." —Mercury

A person placing their hand on the long distance lamp as it emits a blue glow. The light looks like four smooth wood pieces attached by metal rods
    Uncommon Goods

Promising review: "This was an impulse buy at the beginning of quarantine. I purchased five — for us, my mother-in-law, my father-in-law and his wife, my sister-in-law and her family, my brother-in-law and his family. It was a way for us to let folks know we were thinking of them. It became all the more important when my father-in-law passed away three weeks into the shelter in place. Suddenly connection meant so much more. Without being able to gather and mourn together, watching the colors change throughout the day (and night) has been such a vital touchstone. I have never been happier with an impulse purchase." —Auban

Promising review: "I preordered this Echo Dot with clock and began using it the first day available on Nov. 5, 2020. I have multiple third generation Echo Dots with clock and I love the upgrade to the fourth generation Echo Dot with clock. I chose the twilight blue color and it’s great looking in person. It’s a nice break from the charcoal and sandstone color but still looks elegant and sleek in design. The light ring on the base and digital clock display are brighter and more crisp than the third generation Dot. It’s very easy to read. The speakers and microphone are improved as well. The wire is a light grey color and the 15-watt adapter is rectangular in shape versus the square shape of the third generation 15-watt power adapter. The manual buttons to control the Echo are on top similar to last years model, but slightly recessed towards the back so they are not in view when staring directly at the front of the digital clock face. The speaker is more full in front of the Dot and raises in the back where the wire plugs into the Dot. Setup was easy. I am considering trading in my olde third generation Echo Dots with digital clock for additional fourth generation Echo Dots with digital clock instead." —Becca

Get it from Amazon for $59.99 (available in two colors).

    33. An illuminated doodle pillowcase cleverly made to entertain your little ones while you take a much-needed break. Uncommon Goods

It's totally mess free since it just uses light. Plus, the pillowcases are machine washable.

Promising review: "This pillowcase is really thick, durable material. It's not the softness but it will last! Also the picture is really bright and lasts for a while. Description states that the picture will last about five minutes but it lasts much longer, which is great for us. The kids like to draw pictures at bedtime and leave them for me to find when I come in later to check on them." —Homeschool substitute teacher

Get it from Uncommon Goods for $22.

    34. And finally, a sleek smart mirror that 1) lets you take live fitness classes with top trainers from your own home while 2) simultaneously tracking your performance and optimizing your experience based on your own preferences. It's on the pricier side, but the array of options it offers makes it a pretty impressive device.

It's also Oprah-approved, since she added it to her list of favorite things in 2020!

Promising review: "This past spring, I stopped going to OrangeTheory and lifting at my gym. To attempt to maintain fitness at home, I did a good amount of running and bodyweight exercises. Once things opened back up, I decided I really enjoyed working out at home (convenience, etc.) and started to look at options. After exploring many things (Peloton, etc.), I can tell you without a doubt that the MIRROR reigns above all. As an example, I used the Peloton app for running, strength, and a little yoga. Nothing bad to say about Peloton. Geat personalities and solid instruction, but it (and many other online fitness options) feel more like a "side dish" where MIRROR is consistently a 'main course.' The way the MIRROR structures their workouts, presents through the app, and has you working out is an awesome experience, regardless if it's yoga, cardio and strength (my favorite), or stretching classes. The instructors are amazing — come across as genuine people with their own personalities and ways to motivate you — and, they're working hard as you in the workouts. I couldn't pick a favorite because they each have great qualities. I've probably taken the most classes with Katie — it's funny because she's very chill, but before you know it she's lured you into a grueling workout that leaves you gasping for air at the end (for cardio/strength) — LOL! Chris has intense energy, is super likeable, and you can't help but want to work hard to keep going! Lance is a cool guy and will have you grinding out some serious reps. I've really come to enjoy Armond's boxing and strength class — challenging and a nice way to mix up movement, plus he's inspiring. Love XTina's energy! Gerren is really creative and fun with his workouts! And, my #1 reason to choose the MIRROR is the entire day is packed with live classes from morning until night! It's really inspiring to have a live class to commit to and show up at. The amount of live classes and variety of workouts are outstanding! I love my MIRROR!" —Jason

Get it from Mirror for $1,445 or $42/month.
