4. The first step to resolve this crisis is with the President nominating a judge


5. Despite the crisis, Obama nominating judges for vacant spots led him to be accused of packing the courts


6. Now, Congress will take up the nomination of Nina Pillard


7. Pillard is best known for her work allowing women to be admitted to VMI

8. The President of VMI at the time, who Pillard litigated against, was so impressed that he has endorsed her nomination


9. But conservatives are still launching attacks, hoping to hold her nomination hostage


10. They’ve attacked her for believing in gender equality…


11. They’ve attacked her for believing in family planning…


12. They’ve said that she’s as liberal as a California judge, just “in a skirt”…


13. They attacked her for arguing that family leave should also be available to men (a position even Justice Rehnquist agreed with)…
