This week composer Michael Wandmacher was nominated for a World Soundtrack Public Choice Award for his score to the film "Voice From the Stone". In honor of this nomination we decided to reveal eight fun facts you might not know about Michael.

He first got started in the business by connecting with legendary composer Alan Silvestri through a film music newsgroup. Alan invited Michael to LA to see some scoring sessions and introduced him to a number of people, eventually paving a path for him to move to LA permanently. Those few trips got his music circulated enough to start working on direct-to-video films for Dimension and also landed a job scoring “Modern Vampires” for Richard Elfman, Danny’s brother.
