Ingredients
Strawberry Syrup
5 ounces frozen strawberries
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Cocktail
1 & 1⁄2 ounces Johnnie Walker Black Label
1 & 1⁄2 ounces strawberry syrup
1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ounces soda water
Whipped cream, for garnish
Quartered or halved strawberry, for garnish
Preparation
1. Strawberry syrup: Combine ingredients in a small pot over medium-high heat. Stir to dissolve sugar and bring to a simmer. Press on berries with a fork to release juices. Simmer for 7–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Cool, then strain syrup, pressing on the strawberries to release all the juices.
2. Cocktail: In a cocktail shaker, combine Johnnie Walker Black Label, strawberry syrup, vanilla extract, and ice. Shake well. Strain into a coupe glass. Top with soda water. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream and a cut strawberry.
