Before Wolverine became part of the X-Men, Cyclops and Jean Grey had a romantic relationship. As soon as Wolverine shows up, things get rocky. Jean Grey notices Wolverine's feelings towards her. They develop some romantic tension and eventually kiss. Their epic love triangle gets even more complicated when Jean Grey dies and is "reborn" as Phoenix, an evil mutant.
