Consent is defined at Shepherd University by the presence of a verbal, clear, and sober "yes". Consent must be obtained at every new action initiated. Remember, it's okay to say "no".

While at Shepherd University, you have options when it comes to reporting sexual assault. Please don't hesitate to speak to a Shepherd University staff or faculty member who will be more than willing to help you. You will choose what you want to do to move forward. You can speak to Counseling Services in Gardiner Hall. You can report a situation to the university's Title IX office who will help you proceed in the way you wish. You may also report situations to RAs, Residence Life Staff, University Police, or other university staff who can help you find the pathway to assist you in the way you would like.

Counseling Services or call 304-876-5161. Counseling Services are located in Gardiner Hall; you can call or visit the Health Center to make an appointment.

Title IX Office or call 304-876-5067. The Title IX office is located in Gardiner Hall G-16.

Residence Life or 304-876-5172. You can also reach an On-Duty RA by calling the hall duty phone, specific to each hall. Visit Residence Life in Miller Hall next to the Baseball Fields and Shaw Hall
