UKIP Has A New Lion Logo And People Have Some Views

It definitely doesn't look like the Premier League logo, OK?

Remember UKIP? It was the party with the pound logo that used to be led by the man who was always on Question Time. Then it won a referendum on EU membership against the odds, its support collapsed, and everyone moved on.

Anyway, it's the party's annual conference in Torquay and – following an extensive rebrand and a vote by members – it's chosen this as its new post-Brexit logo.

Party members overwhelmingly chose the new logo over something involving coloured sails.

The Sun reported that sources say the Premier League is consulting with its lawyers.

    UKIP seems less bothered.

"I'm not concerned – I'm sure their lawyers will tell them the same thing ours did," interim leader Steve Crowther told BuzzFeed News. "These are not the same symbol. They have a trademark and we're not encroaching on their trademark."

Anyway, people had some strong thoughts on the new lion.

People wanted to give the lion a makeover.

    Some were less flattering.

Others tried to guess what the lion is thinking.

The UKIP lion looks like it's just been told its dinner is halal.

UKIP Lion has reached that point in the night at which he suddenly realises how lashed he is.

There were questions over the lion's lineage.

UKIP lion as an English symbol is medieval French, via ancient Christianity, via Ancient Rome, via ancient Judaism, via Mesopotamia... etc

Basically, people feel the lion is in a bit of state.

Luckily it's already inspiring people to create their own tributes.
