This Mini Food Processor Is The Hardest-Working (And Cutest) Thing In My Kitchen

The Cuisinart Mini Prep is perfect for lazy cooks with limited counter space.

We hope you love the products we recommend! Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

An occupational hazard of writing about shopping for BuzzFeed is that I sometimes buy things I don't strictly need because one of my coworkers has made such a compelling case for them.

But also... you never know when you're going to find the product that changes your life!

Which was exactly what happened when I purchased something that was featured in many of BuzzFeed's Prime Day posts. And friends? I present the Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus Food Processor.

I have only one gripe about this thing, and it's that we were tricked into thinking it was a Prime Day only deal even though it is currently selling on Amazon for the EXACT SAME PRICE I paid for it ($32). Which is great news for you!

I love to cook, but I'm also — how can I put this delicately? — lazy and impatient as heck, especially when I'm hungry.

But this Cuisinart processor makes food prep so. much. easier.

It has just two buttons on it, and they are labeled with simple imperatives, "chop" and "grind," so it's basically impossible to screw up. It chops garlic, onions, ginger, tomatoes...all kinds of things I don't feel like chopping myself!

And when you switch over to the grind function, this thing is an absolute sauce boss. Look, if you haven't read about Sauce Theory, please do yourself a favor and click on over, but here's a summary: incorporating delicious sauces into your diet is a super easy way to eat more healthfully without spending a ton of money or perishing from food boredom. And guess what makes it super easy to whip up a sauce? Yes — I told you at the beginning of the paragraph! It's this Cuisinart!

It's also small and cute — hence the "mini" — which makes it perfect for anyone who's lacking counter space or kitchen storage.

Cuisinart

Look how cute!!

Its bowl has a 3-cup capacity, which I've found to be more than sufficient when cooking for two.

The bowl and blade are even dishwasher-safe, because this machine's number one priority is making your life easier!

And I'm not the only one who's obsessed with this little powerhouse; it's got more than 2,000 five-star reviews on Amazon.

"This mini prep is outstanding! Tiny, powerful, and easy to use, clean, and store. I would recommend it to any single person, couple, or family who use it for small portions or doesn't have a big kitchen. Couldn't be more satisfied. In five or six pulses anything you need is ready." —E."I’ve been using this 3-cup mini food processor for almost two years now. I love it so much that I needed to finally give a review. I only cook for two, so it’s the perfect size for us. I’ve used it to make smoothies, grind nuts and prepare sauces. I’ve even used it to grind oatmeal into oatmeal flour. I have a small kitchen and only have room for the most useful equipment/utensils. This one passes the test. It is also easy to clean…no nooks or crannies for food to get stuck in." —Value Guy"I'm seriously a chef now that I have bought this! I bought this to make baby food and boy does it do the job! Puréed fresh food in seconds! This baby is powerful and so easy to use. In the two weeks I have had it, in addition to baby food I have used this to make homemade biscuits, (dicing the flour and butter together), apple cinnamon muffins (dicing the apples), hummus, salsa, guacamole, and much more. I can't wait to buy the bigger version! Easy to clean and stylish finish. I'm hooked." —The Rickest Rick

I have a larger Cuisinart food processor as well, but since I am single I thought this smaller one would be a good choice for me. It is small enough that it minces garlic or ginger well and is a lot easier to use for that than my garlic press or mini-grater for this purpose. I do a lot of ethnic cooking and like to use whole spices like nutmeg, cumin seeds, Szechuan peppers, etc., grinding them as I need them. The bowl, blade, and top are much easier to clean than my larger processor. I use this processor almost daily and hardly ever use my larger processor anymore. I have taken the larger processor off my counter and it has given me more counter space. I really like the Cuisinart brand as it is always (except for a tea kettle I purchased) well made and high quality. I have learned to trust the brand and at this price, the Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus Food Processor is an excellent buy." —Steven D.
