    28 Stores Who Have Promised To Give Their Employees Thanksgiving Off

    Over 25 national retailers are observing the Thanksgiving holiday in lieu of extending Black Friday sales even earlier.

    While many U.S. retailers are competing to have the earliest Black Friday sale, some opening as early as 5 pm on Thanksgiving day, these 28 retail chains have committed to remaining closed:

    1. American Girl Place

    3. Bed, Bath & Beyond

    "Once again, BJ’s is bucking the retail trend of putting sales on Thanksgiving above family time and will continue its tradition of not opening on Thanksgiving Day, allowing Team Members to enjoy the holiday with friends and families," they said in a press release.

    5. Burlington Coat Factory

    “All Burlington locations will remain closed on Thanksgiving so that our associates and customers can spend the special holiday with their loved ones,” a spokesperson told Think Progress.
