    1. It's true: Those amazing 20% off one item coupons you get in the mail don't really expire.

Though there may be an expiration date, most stores will accept these coupons past that date.

    2. So they're a pretty hot commodity.

You can purchase them in bulk on eBay.

    3. Some extreme coupon forums recommended renting a PO Box just to get them at more than one address.

    4. There are now a billion* ways to get the famed 20% off one item coupons: email, snail mail, inside newspapers or print magazines, Facebook sign-ups and even by text message.

    5. But the holy grail 20% off your entire purchase coupons are a lot harder to come by.

The store doesn't disclose how they select customers to receive this coupon, but according to, the selection is random and the coupon usually comes via snail mail or when you move to a new address.

    6. If you use a BBB registry, they'll usually send you additional coupons to complete your list.

And you can even use your registry as a receipt if you need to return items later on.

    7. The online and mobile version of the coupons DO actually expire.

Those emailed codes and shopping portals don't work past the listed date. But if you're on the list to get emailed or text-message coupons, they usually send a new one as soon as your old one has expired.

    8. If you somehow still don't have a coupon, leaving an item in your online cart can help.

You might get an email with a special coupon to change your mind on your abandoned item. Just make sure you're signed in with your email address when browsing.

Just bring your coupon and your receipt and they will refund you the coupon amount.

    10. You actually can't use any coupons or discounts on a lot of major brands.

    Sorry, baby.

    12. But the store does accept competitor and manufacturer coupons.

So if one of the brands or products you see excluded has a coupon from another store or a lower listed price, they should match that price according to their "Price Match Guarantee."

This also counts for lower rates at online retailers like Amazon (but not third-party sellers) as long as the products are identical.

    13. You can use these coupons at all Bed Bath & Beyond company stores, which includes World Market...

    15. ...Christmas Tree Shops...

But even Buy Buy Baby branded coupons still can't be used on diapers, wipes, formula, baby food, or baby furniture.

Other excluded baby brands include: Baby Brezza, Baby Jogger, Babyletto, Babymel, Destination Maternity, Bassinest, Oeuf, Orbit Baby, and more.

    17. Despite what’s written on the coupon, some stores allow you to use multiple coupons per transaction — but only one coupon PER ITEM.

    18. You CAN use the store coupons on sale and clearance items.

And there are usually multiple clearance areas inside every store, one with seasonal markdowns and then area-specific clearance bins throughout the departments.

    19. If you return an item that you used a coupon with, you don't get the coupon back.

And with the store's new return policy, you can either exchange items or get a store credit for 20% less than the purchase price.

    20. Never forget: The glorious towel stacks are a big fat lie.

But you can still get them for 20% off.
