Global Girl Group XG Talks Latest Music Releases "Shooting Star And "Left Right", Their Debut, And What K-Pop Means To Them

Meet the girls of XG, the seven-member hip-hop/R&B girls group that is breaking into the global music scene.

If you're on the K-pop side of TikTok, then you've most likely heard some of XG's latest hits.

With their debut single "Tippy Toes," they showcased their well-rounded talent through difficult choreography and outstanding visual performance. A few months later, they released their second single "Mascara," which garnered more fan attention online. Now, they are back with their third single, "Shooting Star," which has amassed large attention from their online fan base by going viral on TikTok. Specifically, "Shooting Star" and "Left Right" have put XG on the radar of many around the world.

BuzzFeed sat down with the girls of XG to chat through their latest singles "Shooting Star" and "Left Right," their most cherished moments of their first year as a group, and more.

Harvey: If I had to sum up our new tracks "Shooting Star" and "Left Right" in one word, it would be "authenticity"! These songs carry a message of "believing in oneself and becoming the person you want to be, without being swayed by others." Our music videos capture XG enjoying the music in their own unique way, and through our lyrics, we aim to convey the significance of staying true to oneself.


3. Your music has recurring themes about self-confidence and being who you want to be. What are some ways you keep yourselves feeling empowered?
