Hey, I'm Jess! Shopping on Amazon is something most of us have done at some point or other, but if you regularly see other people with amazing bargains and wonder how they found them, then I, a professional shopper, am about to spill the tea ☕
👀 Looking for bargains 👀
Amazon has plenty of bargains, if you know what to shop for and how to search for them. My top tips for saving yourself some coin on Amazon are:
💰 Look out for 'Prime Days' and sales
💰 Use different keywords to search for your items – search for words you think people are using to describe the product you want, and then check the descriptions of the items that come up. Use those descriptions to search for alternative listings where you may find things at different price points.
💰 Prices can change fairly regularly on Amazon – if something you want is a little pricey and it isn't low in stock, then add it to your basket and keep an eye on it. You'll often get notifications for price changes this way too.
💰 Check the suggested listings under a product you're browsing. Often there will be comparable products at a variety of price points if you scroll down the page under sections labelled 'products related to this item' or 'inspired by your recent shopping trends.'
💰 Some Amazon products have voucher codes mentioned in the description to save you £££.
💰 Shop slightly out of season and you're more likely to get a bargain. Sellers will often hike prices when things are more in demand – for example, garden items will often become more spendy once a heatwave hits.
💰Add the price point you're looking for to your search term. The left hand column will often allow you to filter by price range, but entering 'bathroom products under £10' for example, will also help you to find decently priced products specific to your needs.
💰 Some of the cheapest household products often have a minimum order quantity. This can seem annoying if you were only after one item, but if it's something you regularly use, it could be worth splashing out once and getting a bulk-buy discount rather than repeat purchasing again in a few weeks' time.
💰 Keep an eye on 'Amazon must-haves' on social media, especially on TikTok. If you see something cool early on, you've got a better chance of nabbing it for a reasonable price than once it's gone viral.
💰 If you find a good brand on Amazon, make a note of their name. Often certain store fronts will have good prices throughout – I like Sass and Belle for homeware, and Philip Jones for cheap but on-trend jewellery.
