"He was INCREDIBLE playing the role on stage and SO deserving of his Tony, so when it was announced that he'd be playing Evan in the movie, I was really excited. I even held out hope through the initial online hate, but every trick they tried to 'age him down' actually just made him look older, and his performance just didn't translate to the screen."

"I was so excited, since he's my favorite actor and the original Mary Poppins was one of my favorite childhood films — only to watch it and realize that, not only was he barely in it, the whole movie was just disappointing and bad."

But once his character was killed by the alien, the rest of the movie, to me, was a HUGE disappointment. I guess I just wish he got more screen time and didn’t die in the first 35ish minutes."
