1. Guy Sebastian (Dolly, January 2004)

Dolly

Guy Sebastian was fresh off Australian Idol and making stars come out of his hands, while Shannon "What About Me?" Noll got relegated to the back cover. Beau Brady (remember him?) was the "prince of TV" - AND shirtless, because luckily he didn't have the "ugly disease", which was apparently a thing.

3. Freddie Prinze Jr and Sarah Michelle Gellar (Girlfriend, February 2004)

Girlfriend

Everyone's ultimate '00s OTP fronted "The Love Issue", which also revealed Guy Sebastian's lurve secrets and promised to teach everyone how to flirt AND love life.

4. Kirsten Dunst (Girlfriend, March 2004)

Girlfriend

Paul Walker was hot hot hot and everyone luvved Heath and it's actually really devastating now. Katie Holmes shared her style tips, which would probably make Suri Cruise laugh a lot. And some real girls shared some really heavy stories.

5. Guy Sebastian and Isabel Lucas (Dolly, April 2004)

Dolly

Guy and Isabel were "homegrown hotties" who looked like the Australian flag had vomited all over them. And even if your parents called you fat you could still learn to love your body AND be even cooler.

7. Kate Bosworth, (Girlfriend, May 2004)

Girlfriend

Pre-baby/marriage/divorce to Miranda Kerr, Orlando Bloom was in love with Kate Bosworth and that was important enough to be the month's main cover line. Shannon Noll warranted a "HOTTIE ALERT", and astrocising was a thing.

9. Paris Hilton (Dolly, June 2004)

Dolly

Being "outta control" landed Paris Hilton this front cover, which also highlighted the importance of slut-shaming your friend. And apparently pets were being turned into clothes? OK.

11. Kirsten Dunst, (Dolly, August 2004)

Dolly

Kirsten's second teen cover for the year framed her as "Spidey girl". Meanwhile being transgender warranted a "shock report", and you could find out if you were fat or just curvy on page 106.

12. Hilary Duff (Dolly, September 2004)

Dolly

While Hilary Duff talked her "body image pressure", Mary-Kate Olsen was at the centre of a "special anorexia report". There was also some freaky guy facts and a pin-up spesh, plus the magazine came with ~free spunky boy stickers~, which actually sound great.

13. Gwen Stefani (Dolly, October 2004)

Dolly

Gwen Stefani was looking hella good but confessed she used to be a dork, Video Hits was still totally a thing, and the real life read was about a girl being obese. But most importantly there were once again some delightful spunky stickers.

14. Lindsay Lohan, (Dolly, November 2004)

Dolly

This was peak Mean Girls-era Lindsay Lohan, and apparently her boobs merited a "those"? Body image was once again front and centre, a pre-Thor Chris Hemsworth created "pin-up heaven" alongside Chad Michael Murray and Adam Brody, and this time the free stickers were all about Australian Idol.

15. Mischa Barton (Girlfriend, November 2004)

Girlfriend

Mischa Barton was "Miss Popularity" and it was plausible to date the guys from The OC, even if you weren't the girls from The OC. The secrets to boys' locker rooms were revealed, iPod Minis were the must-have prize and showing your butt crack was, like, SO 2003.
