    House of the Dragon Episode 8 ended with the death of King Viserys I Targaryen. It was pretty sad!

    But, perhaps even more devastating is the fact that, in his final moments, he mistook Alicent for Rhaenyra and started mumbling about Aegon's dream and the prince that was promised, referring to Aegon the Conquerer and his prophecy about the White Walkers — but Alicent misunderstood and thought he was talking about their son, Aegon II, and the fact he should be king.

    Just as it seemed Alicent was going to make peace with Rhaenyra after Viserys pleaded with them at their last family supper to love one another, Alicent now has even more reason to push Aegon toward the Iron Throne over Rhaenyra. 

    As we know from the trailer, Episode 9 will feature Aegon II being crowned (with Aegon the Conquerer's crown, no less), and this move will kick-start the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. 

    Making the infamous war start over a minor misunderstanding (in addition to, you know, decades of resentment and fighting and confusion) had a lot of fans absolutely screaming, on top of the general emotion of the whole scene. Here are some of the best reactions...
