Sorry, But Longclaw Is Not Alive On "Game Of Thrones"

    Other times... well, let's just say Game of Thrones fans really know how to reach.

    After Season 7, Episode 6, a lot of people spotted something funny about the eye on Longclaw, Jon's sword, when Jon emerges from the water after the wight battle.

    Which spawned theories that the sword might be alive, and connected to Jon.

    There were even theories that Bran might be warging into it. Um...

    Sorry if you're a fan of this theory, but the director of Episode 6, Alan Taylor, has officially called bullshit on it.

    Taylor told Business Insider that he hasn't "got a clue" what people are talking about when it came to Longclaw's mysteriously opening eye.

    "I can say that there was no intention for that to be the case," he said. "It's good people are pouring so much attention into it — sometimes it blows up in our face. Like there's a heated conversation about how fast ravens can fly now because of the story in my episode. Sometimes it's not comfortable to have people analysing things too closely, but it's cool that they want to."

    So there you have it. Whether it's water or frost or some kind of reflection – Longclaw is most definitely not alive.
