Warning: This post contains spoilers for Season 6, Episode 2 of Game of Thrones.
"Home" opened with Bran seeing a vision of the past, giving us our first look at young Ned and his siblings in a scene that seems to directly parallel the very first time we saw the Starks.
The scene shows Bran standing where Ned once did, looking down on brothers training together...
And comforting each other.
Not to mention being shown up by their sister.
The scene strengthens the comparisons that have often been made between Arya and Lyanna Stark, and also serves a somewhat painful reminder of how happy the Starks once were. But perhaps it hints at the idea that they can come full circle and be happy once again?
(Hahahahhahaha who am I kidding, this show isn't going to have a happy ending.)
(Oh god please though?)
In another nice piece of continuity, Lyanna's hair is styled in the exact same ~Northern~ way Sansa wore hers in Season 1.
But the strongest parallel of all is the fact that Ned says the exact same thing to Benjen that Jon said to Olly in Season 5.
Another little gem in the flashback you might have missed: a Reddit user pointed out that the older boy standing with Ned and Benjen is not their older brother Brandon, but actually a young Rodrik Cassel (the Master-at-Arms of Winterfell who was killed by Theon).
He's even wearing the same belt!
