The Cast Of "Dance Academy" Then Vs Now

It's been seven years since the show premiered, and now it's hit the big screen.

    Tara Webster (Xenia Goodwin)

    ABC
    StudioCanal

Xenia was 16 years old when she first played Tara in Dance Academy. It was her first TV role - and now her first movie role.

    Christian Reed (Jordan Rodrigues)

    ABC
    StudioCanal

Jordan got his professional start playing Simba in The Lion King musical and made his TV debut in Home and Away. Since the Dance Academy TV finale, he has been acting steadily in the US, including recurring roles in The Fosters and Faking It.

    Kat Karamakov (Alicia Banit)

    ABC
    StudioCanal

Alicia's first gig was playing the young version of Miranda Otto's character in Dead Letter Office. You might also recognise her from Summer Heights High and the Australian version of As The Bell Rings. After the Dance Academy movie, Alicia will appear in sci-fi series We Were Tomorrow.

    Abigail Armstrong (Dena Kaplan)

    ABC
    StudioCanal

Dena has been acting steadily since Dance Academy ended on TV, and she's also been touring as a DJ, performing at Coachella and releasing her own music.

    Ben Tickle (Thomas Lacey)

    ABC
    StudioCanal

Thomas joined Dance Academy as Ben in season 2, and has since appeared in Winners & Losers, as well as taking on the starring role in the Strictly Ballroom stage musical.

    Ollie Lloyd (Keiynan Lonsdale)

    ABC
    StudioCanal

Keiynan also joined Dance Academy in season 2, and in between the show ending and filming the movie, he nabbed roles in the Divergent movie series, historical thriller The Finest Hours, and a recurring role on The Flash.

    Sammy Lieberman (Thom Green)

    ABC

Although he won't be returning for the movie (RIP SAMMY!), Thom acted alongside many Dance Academy alumni in the NBC show Camp, and he also appeared in the mystery movie Downriver.

    Ethan Karamakov (Tim Pocock)

    ABC

Tim isn't in the Dance Academy movie, but he also starred in Camp, and will appear in We Were Tomorrow later this year alongside his Dance Academy sister Alicia.

    Grace Whitney (Isabel Durant)

    ABC

Isabel is another Dance Academy grad who won't be appearing in the movie. Since the show finished, she scored a starring role in Mako: Island of Secrets, and also appeared in - you guessed it - Camp.
