    1. A tube of Supergoop! Everyday SPF 50 Sunscreen because it'll keep your skin looking fresh and hydrated without leaving that thick, gunky white cast. It's formulated with natural sunflower, citrus, and basil extracts and — speaking from experience — all you need is a little dollop and you're good to go!

I've been looking for a nongreasy sunscreen that isn't too thick and doesn't require me to stand there rubbing it in for 10 minutes to get it to properly disappear and FINALLY, I've found it! A little goes a long way with this, so I apply a nickel-sized amount to my entire face and it absorbs really quickly. I have oily skin AND I wear makeup so I kept my fingers crossed that my face wouldn't look like a greased frying pan after a day of walking around in the hot sun. I was out from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and when I looked in the mirror — no oily patches! It didn't weigh my skin down and actually made my face and arms feel softer after applying it. It does have a bit of a sunscreen-y smell but it isn't too strong. Supergoop! for the win!

Promising review: "I ordered a second bottle after going through the 32 ounce bottle over approximately a year of daily use, and sometimes reapplying. It absorbs quickly, doesn't leave any greasy feeling or residue, and doesn't have any negative reaction to my skin. It actually works well with my serums and treatments and leaves my skin looking great for the day!" —Samnantha

Get it from Sephora for $22+ (available in three sizes) or from Supergoop! for $10+ (available in four sizes).

    2. This bottle of Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream so you can avoid that dried-out feeling you sometimes get with ridiculously thick sunscreens. Plus, this soothes irritated skin (I see you, aloe!).

Promising review: "I've used the Missha Essence Sun Milk and Missha Soft Finish Sun Milk, and this blows them out of the water. People have said in the reviews that the scent is really strong. However, I thought the fragrance was really light for a Korean product — I think Korean consumers think that if it's fragrance-free, it is lacking in some way (I'm Korean and I just get this impression). This sunblock is the perfect balance of not drying you out in order to get a matte finish and not being greasy — the two extremes of Missha sunblocks. I think the ingredients are relatively gentle and I have very sensitive, acne-prone, and combination skin. I highly recommend it as your daily sunblock for the price point and quality." —Sarah Lee

Get it from Amazon for $22.50.

    3. A bottle of Hawaiian Tropic Sheer Touch Lotion Sunscreen that'll go on like ~butter~ thanks to the shea butter, vitamin E, and mango fruit extract. Reviewers say it actually has a pretty shimmer to it that makes you look a bit *luminous*.

Promising review: "This is by far my favorite sunscreen. I use it every day in the summer. The scent is AMAZING. Tropical but not overbearing or cloyingly sweet. It absorbs really well and doesn't feel waxy. Prevents me from burning, but I will say that I have a light olive skin tone and don't burn *that* easily (it would really take several hours in the sun unprotected for me to burn). It has a *very* subtle shimmer that is suitable for actual adults and is not teenager-grade glitter. Don't ever change, Hawaiian Tropic!" —AMG

Get it from Amazon for $7.42+ (available in SPF 15, 30, and 50 versions).

    4. This tube of Bioré UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence because it's lightweight and absorbs quickly without leaving a weird, tacky feeling on your face.

Promising review: "Best sunscreen we’ve ever used. Applies super easily. It’s very liquidy and spreads very easily. There is no white mess to rub in. Once it’s on, it feels like bare skin — not sticky at all. It has a pleasant, modern, delicate scent, and it protects against sunburns brilliantly. A full afternoon of sun-soaked active time on the water, and no problem. I bought two more right away and am throwing away my old sunscreen." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $18.90.

    5. A bottle of EltaMD UV Clear Facial Sunscreen Broad-Spectrum SPF 46 perfect if you have sensitive skin that's also prone to hyperpigmentation and acne. The oil-free formula honestly would've done my zit-speckled high school skin some good when I was slathering on products that turned me greasy in mere hours.

It also contains niacinamide (vitamin B3) and hyaluronic acid for moisturizing/nourishing benefits!

Promising reviews: "I found this gem on the Environmental Working Group (EWG) website. Do you know how hard it is to find a skin product that is safe from dangerous chemicals, gentle on sensitive skin, and that despite all this, still works effectively? It's even harder to find a higher SPF sunblock that meets these criteria. Well, Elta MD has not only delivered on these promises: They offer all this in a formula that looks so natural that it doesn't leave you looking like a ghost or mime. It also applies smoothly to work well under makeup. On top of this, it does not clog my acne-prone pores or dry out my face. What more do you want?? This is my sun protection product for life." —Liz T.

"I really like this SPF cream. First of all it doesn't smell 'perfumey' — it might have a hint of suntan lotion smell, but it's really faint. Second, this cream is NOT GREASY and disappears fast even though it has nine percent zinc oxide. Third, it has 46+ SPF with 7.5 Octinoxate to slow burning. I've finally had to admit that I need a strong SPF; given past brushes with melanoma and the sincere desire to not have the hide of an alligator. And while not inexpensive, this is far less than the cost of a lot of the better-quality moisturizers for men. You usually get exactly what you pay for and this is worth every penny." —John Galt

Get it from Amazon for $28.80.

    6. This bottle of MAKE P:REM UV Defense Me Blue Ray Sun Gel that'll practically disappear into your skin without leaving any signs of residue. So if you're rushing out the house, you won't have to worry about taking extra time to work the product in to avoid leaving behind any white streaks.

    @makeprem / Via instagram.com, amazon.com

Promising review: "I'm down to my third bottle! This sunscreen leaves your face feeling fresh and dewy after only a pea-sized application. A little goes a long way and I can attest to that since mine took four to six months to get emptied out. What I really like about this sun gel is that it’s nongreasy and it really protects my face from the heat of the sun. It not only has SPF but also has a TPF (Triple Protection) factor that regulates the overheating and the temperature of your skin because you’re so damn HOT, girl! Let me also tell you that it does not give you a white cast, so they won’t have you mistaken for a friend of Casper. No need to reapply. When I come home from a long day out, I notice that my skin still gives out that glowy and youthful complexion. I don’t even have to wear a thousand layers of highlighter to make me look like one of the K-pop idols. I received countless compliments (even from my haters) because of this sunscreen especially when mixed with the Boscia Tsubaki Glotion. What I love: it's a non-greasy, mineral sunscreen with anti-aging formula that prevents heat-aging, is good for sensitive skin, doesn't leave any irritation or breakouts, a strong smell, and it's easy to pump, leaves a matte finish, quick lock-in, healthy glow, and dewiness." —Riz

Get it from Amazon for $31.99

    7. And this tube of Black Girl Sunscreen with SPF 30 because its natural formula dries completely clear, which means you can say goodbye to that annoying white cast. Plus, it's made with soothing jojoba and avocado so you better believe you'll be packing your skin with moisturizing nutrients.

Promising reviews: "Very moisturizing, a little goes a long way, no white residue! I love Black Girl Sunscreen. I have dry sensitive acne prone skin and the sunscreen has not caused break outs. Only moisture and a glow! Will definitely be a customer for life!" —Britney J.

"Great sunscreen. It very light and not greasy. It blends well and doesn’t mess with my facial moisturizer. It’s a little expensive for the amount and size of the container.... but it’s definitely worth it." —Cece

Get it from Black Girl Sunscreen for $18.99 (currently on backorder) or from Target for $15.99.

    8. A tube of MDSolarSciences Mineral Beauty Balm SPF 50, which actually has a slight tint to reduce the appearance of discoloration and give you an even-toned face while it protects you from the sun's harmful rays.

A model applying the sunscreen to their face
    Amazon

Promising reviews: "This is an all-around excellent product. It has high SPF, goes on very smooth and soothing with absolutely ZERO stinging, which is a rarity for my sensitive skin, and leaves a natural matte finish. I was scared by how dark the product looked before I applied it but the tint blends right in even when applied generously — best of all, there's no orange or yellow hue to it. It gives just enough coverage to help tone down any redness or discoloration. And it doesn't sweat off on hot days. I use a setting powder over this (Kat Von D Lock It powder) and my face is good to go. The pump is useless, by the way. I unscrew the cap and squeeze it straight out of the tube. The only downside: it's REALLY tough to remove. I have to double cleanse (oil cleanser plus foam cleanser) and check closely to make sure I got it all off. I didn't deduct a star for this, though, because long-lasting wear is what you want in a sunscreen and primer. Just be really diligent with your cleansing routine and it should be okay." —Random Blogger

"This product does not make me break out and it literally feels like I'm wearing nothing on my face. It's not greasy at all. It's non-fragrant and is slightly tinted." —damien

Get it from Amazon for $39+ (available in medium/dark and light/medium shades).

    9. This bottle of Etude House Sunprise Mild Airy Finish Sun Milk SPF 50+ if you usually struggle with an oily T-zone and your current greasy sunscreen is just packing on the shine. This lightweight formula gives you a matte finish.

    amazon.com, Amazon

Promising reviews (for the photo on the left): "So I tried this today under my makeup, and it really worked. Like, it actually worked. I have pictures that show all the oil that usually accumulates on my T-zone by 11:30 a.m., but it is now 10:06 p.m. when I am writing this review and I haven't blotted once all day, and that is it. Truly money well spent. Oily skin problem solved!" —MJR Industries

"I have medium/tan skin and it didn’t leave a white or chalky residue like some face sunscreens do. I wouldn’t wear this if I was planning on working out or spending all day outside. It’s perfect if you’re inside for most of the day." —Amazon Customer

Get it from Amazon for $11.

    10. A tube of Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen to leave your skin feeling like you're wearing nothing at all (it's seriously that non-greasy and quick-absorbing). My grandma is a super fan, BTW and she loves that it doesn't leave an icky white cast on her skin.

    instagram.com, Amazon

Promising reviews (for SPF 70): "This is the only facial sunscreen that I use on myself and my kids. For myself, I usually do not like using sunscreen on my face because I have sensitive skin and fear that it might cause me to break out or cause some sort of irritation on my face, but this one is great. No irritation and no breakouts, and I feel protected from the sun. The sunscreen feels light on my skin and it smells nice. For my kids, it also protects their skin and does not irritate their skin at all. I usually send each of them to school/camp with one tube each." —SummerDays

"I read other reviews on this before purchasing. It is the first sunscreen I have found that is not greasy! I wear it over my regular moisturizer and under my makeup. It does not make my makeup clot or smear throughout the day! I also bought some for my young adult son who is in college. He raves about it also. All other sunscreens he has tried made his skin greasy and shiny — not this product. Highly recommend." —Bugsnaps

Get it from Amazon for $8.97.

    11. And a tube of Sun Bum Original Moisturizing Sunscreen Lotion and for transfer-proof protection while you're outside working around your yard all day. It contains loads of vitamin E to moisturize your skin, and it's water-resistant for up to 80 minutes.

Promising reviews: "I feel like I’ve found the holy grail LOL! This sunscreen is what I’ve been trying to find for ages. Our family does NOT like products which contain parabens or are tested on animals but we’re all very fair so need a really reliable product which actually protects us. Sun Bum has SPF 50 which is the only thing I’m putting on my kids. And when you apply it, it actually goes on smoothly and doesn’t feel greasy or sticky. That’s the biggest plus because it’s hard enough to get sunscreen on children but if they know it doesn’t feel nasty, then they don’t complain half as much." —Trading Robot

"Most of the sunscreens that are 30 or more SPF that I have tried leave me with this white filmy, residue stuff that I can't rub in, but that annoying factor is gone with this! It rubs in great and protects well. I have sensitive skin, as does my husband. Heavy lotions and sunscreens leave my skin feeling greasy all day and leaves behind clogged pores. Not so with Sun Bum... It's a winner!" —Gracie

Get it from Amazon for $11.48+ (available in two sizes and SPF 15, 30, 50, and 70).

    12. This Coola Mineral Face SPF 30 Sunscreen Matte Tint with a delightfully whipped, mousse-like formula that *fully* rubs in and leaves a non-greasy, matte finish. In other words, you won't have to worry about a slick feeling on your face if you decide to apply makeup on top of this.

Promising reviews: (for the photo on the right) "Over and over again I try to find a cheaper zinc-based facial sunscreen, and I always come back and spend all my money on this one. The texture of this sunscreen is DIVINE and I have yet to find another sunscreen like it. You have to shake it well for the first few weeks, but it comes out like a light whipped mousse and feels velvety to the touch as you apply it. My most common problem with zinc-based facial sunscreens is that the ones that rub in nicely enough to not leave you white and chalky always made my face way too greasy. This is not the case with this sunscreen. It has a true matte finish and primes my face perfectly if I am adding another layer of tinted moisturizer/foundation. I have a photo allergy to most chemical-based sunscreen ingredients, so I am therefore limited to physical sunscreens like zinc and titanium dioxide. It is really, really hard to find ones that rub in fully, don't leave a white cast, and don't contain nano-particles (which don't have enough research on them for me to trust). This one is the only one I have found that does it all for me." —Kayla B.

"This is the most amazing sunscreen for face that I have ever used. It is not at all greasy and goes on like a cloud. It doesn't add a lot of color but smooths the complexion. Although I have always worn a good amount of makeup, I don't feel like I need to with this. Just smooth this on with a dot of blush (concealer for under eye area is a must for me), and add an optional light dusting of powder and mascara. That's it for a fresh summer look. I highly recommend this." —TexasKelt

Get it from Amazon for $36.

    13. A tube of Cosrx Shield Fit Snail Essence Sun Cream SPF 50+ formulated with snail mucin to soothe and alleviate redness while the sunscreen protects your face. Just like the name suggests, the texture is similar to that of a lightweight essence, so you won't have to feel like your face is being weighed down by a goopy formula.

Promising reviews: "Love! Just bought three more during Prime Day! I am a skincare freak, and I admit it. I also hate layering SPF over great moisturizers. Will they still work right? I also have rosacea, so less is more for my cheeks that are super reactive. I’ve found snail mucin to have helped calm my cheeks so I tried this as a replacement, and it’s amazing. My skin looks great and it’s protected. Buy! You’re going to love it!" —Amazon Customer

"This is my favorite sunscreen. Doesn’t break me out, pretty much perfect texture that is moisturizing but not greasy. No white cast either. It’s perfect." —b k

    14. This container of Jane Iredale Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen SPF 30 that's actually an easy, breezy powder formula that'll leave you with a matte look and loads of sun protection. You can also easily reapply it on top of makeup!!

    instagram.com, instagram.com

There's even a lil' mirror built into the cap so you make sure you cover everrrryyy inch of your face (or scalp or wherever else needs a lil' protection!).

Promising review: "I am an adult with acne-prone skin and a fair-medium skin tone. There are few makeup products that I need to have in supply at all times — and this is one of them. I've used it for about two years now. I wear it every single day. I've always used translucent powders because I like that it sets my foundation or tinted moisturizers and gives me a translucent, matte, and 'clear' looking finish without caking on more pigment. With this powder — because it is a Jane Iredale product — it doesn't irritate or cause breakouts at all. In fact, my complexion improved when I switched from other powders to this. The BONUS is that it has broad spectrum UVA/UVB protection. I've tried SO many sunblocks under my makeup, and they were all gross, white, and/or greasy. I LOVE the idea of putting the protection in the makeup I wear every day. Also, I prefer not to use the sponge on the top of the lid. I use a brush." —janegirl

Get it from Amazon for $47 (available in four shades).

    15. A tube of A'Pieu Pure Block Natural Sun Cream SPF 45 because it'll practically melt into your skin and provide a hydrating base for makeup (all while protecting your skin from the sun's harmful rays, of course). Plus, the citrus-y scent literally smells like summer.

Promising reviews: "This is the ONLY SUNSCREEN I’VE USED for the past two years recommended by my dermatologist sister. She takes skincare, and especially sunscreen, very seriously. I use it as my last step during the daytime (after cleansing and moisturizing). Doesn’t leave the ‘white cast’ that sunscreen typically leaves on my skin, which makes it great to wear underneath makeup. I have combination skin (dry forehead, oily everywhere else) and it doesn’t break me out." —Amazon Customer

"This is the best sunscreen to use with makeup. There are a lot of sunscreens I've tried that apply really greasy or dry and it was like there was absolutely no in between. But this one is so nice and smooth and very absorbent. At first, I was nervous about that because I thought it wouldn't work to protect from the sun ruining my skincare but after using it for months I'm satisfied with the way it's been working for me." —Sally Appleton
