    Uncommon Goods

Promising review: "This was a fun little kit that allowed us to learn about making truffles and had a pile of treats at the end. The only problem I had was there was so many I *had* to bring them to work to share...a good problem to have!" β€”Dave

Get it from Uncommon Goods for $35.

    2. This brownie pan that might remind you of a game of PAC-MAN. You can bake more than one type of brownie for double the fun, and the pan is designed to add chewiness to all those edges.

Promising review: "I greased and lightly floured the pan, and the brownies just pop right out, using the cute little spatula that comes with it. But you know what will NOT be cute and little? Me, thanks to this pan. These are hands-down the most delicious brownies I have ever made. I thought about buying this pan a few years ago, and just didn't, but I should have β€” it worked perfectly." β€”Bailey's mom

    6. A dog selfie attachment so you can take a quick break to pose with your pup and focus on growing their following on Insta.

Promising review: "Love this product!! We have two Aussie shepherds that we think are beautiful, but getting them to pose for pics has always been a hassle. Not anymore! They are focused (pun intended) on the phone and make aussieome faces when they hear the ball squeak. I highly recommend this for anyone who likes to take pics of their pups. On a related note, this might even work for babies because of the squeaker!" β€”Nolefans

Get it from Amazon for $9.99.

    7. This copy of Dangerous Games To Play In The Dark, a frighteningly informational book that'll teach you about the spooky rules, alleged results, and history of some of the most bone-chilling games of lore we humans have dared to play. It's such a page-turner that you may even finish it in one sitting.

Promising review: "This is a magnificent work of supernatural art! I absolutely love this little book! I read a lot of books on supernatural, paranormal, and folklore subjects and this tiny tome is more fun than most stuff in my library. It’s got it all! It’s creepy, it’s spooky, it’s historical, it’s urban legend and magic all rolled into one. This is such a unique book that I recommend anyone and everyone who is into the occult or supernatural read this and keep it for reference. The author did her homework and cited her references and the history of each 'game.' The book is well written and so much fun to read. I bought it strictly for chills and thrills, never intending to play the games (but the fun is in MAYBE SOME DARK NIGHT I WILL) so I encourage anyone who wants a tantalizingly wicked night time read to get this book. You will be pleasantly creeped out." β€”SEB333

Get a hardcover copy from Amazon for $11.70 (also available for the Kindle).

    8. A super cool puzzle with front-page stories from The New York Times to unleash your curiosity and motivate you to focus on getting the puzzle done so you can see what was going on in the paper on the day of your choosing.

    Uncommon Goods

What makes this puzzle *extra* fun and special is that you actually personalize it by choosing a specific month, date, and year so your puzzle will reflect the front page on the date. Some cool, unique inspo includes a birthdate of a loved one, a wedding anniversary date, or a graduation date.

Promising review: "Puzzles are one of my mom's favorite things to do in her free time. The fundamental problem with puzzles is that once they're completed, the excitement behind doing them is gone. They are fun and challenging to do but as soon as you complete, you no longer really care about it. That changed with this puzzle because it was specific to my mom's date of birth. As soon as she completed it, she started crying tears of joy and I had never seen her so happy to have completed a puzzle. She ultimately ended up framing the puzzle and keeps it on display in our house. That's something that she never would've done for any other puzzle." β€”MisterMinnesota

Get it from Uncommon Goods for $49.95.

    9. Paper to Petal, a DIY guide that'll relax your mind and occupy your hands with you step-by-step instructions on how to make stunning floral bouquets out of paper.

    13. This book with spaces and prompts to draw 642 different things so you can give yourself even a tiny, five-minute break to up your drawing skills.

Promising review: "This is the best drawing book you'll ever pick up. Am I exaggerating? No, I am not. This book has no 'how to draw this step by step' parts. You don't want that, I promise. If your goal is to really improve your drawing skills, then get this book. This book gives you blank pages with a random prompt. Your goal is to draw that prompt. No guides. These prompts can range from a skunk, to a crayon, to David Bowie, to a sense of humor. Just random prompts.

Why is this the best thing for your skills? If you really want to get good at drawing, you have to practice drawing everything. You have to expand and understand your mind reference library. The bigger your mind library is, the better the art you will make." β€”Natalie

Get it from Amazon for $13.33.

    14. A jar of cake-scented slime so you can occupy fidgety hands while thinking over big decisions. Just one look will immediately fill your mind with happiness.

Promising review: "I'm a graduate student and I keep this in my office to play with when I need a break or to calm down after a stressful meeting. I bought the blue one and it smells like bubblegum. Very fun product!" β€”Brian Schaefer

Amy Latta's book not only offers a lot of different lettering techniques, but she also teaches you how to draw banners, arrows, swirls, and just about anything else you need to be a super crafty person. I have always been frustrated by not being able to draw, but she really breaks things down intelligently to teach you how to do things in a way that makes sense. It has been a joy to sit down every night and practice!" β€”E. Drennan

Promising review: "This book is exactly what it says it is: a big activity book for anxious people! It’s got some great activities inside that totally keep me busy, keep my anxiety in check, and truly is a great time suck to keep my mind focused on the activities and an escape from whatever is consuming me those days. 19. A Kodak Instant Digital Camera because you can connect it to your phone via Bluetooth and spend literal hours just scrolling through to pick your favorite memories to print out.

    Amazon, Jasmin Suknanan / BuzzFeed

I'm a HUGE fan of photography and have used many an instant camera. The instruction booklet the camera comes with says you can download the Kodak two-in-one app on your phone so you can print photos that are already on your camera roll, so I downloaded the app and paired the camera to my phone using Bluetooth to test out with some photos I took on my Labor Day trip to Rhode Island. Pairing the two was super easy with the instructions from the app. The app also lets you edit and customize the photos before printing. So on one photo, I added some text before printing, and the other I left blank. They printed out beautifully!!!!! I also love that the photo paper is actually adhesive β€” you can just peel off the back and stick it anywhere. That's perfect for me since I actually keep a travel journal with photos and things from my trips β€” no glue or tape required to keep those pics in place. I can definitely see this being a bonus for anyone who loves journaling or scrapbooking and wants an easy way to hold onto their memories. Overall, I really thought it was fun to use. The photo quality is great, too. I've had instant cameras where the colors and brightness are diminished and it felt like a waste, but this is pretty vibrant.

Get it from Amazon for $149.49+ (available in four colors and as part of four different bundles). You can also purchase a pack of 40 sheets of printer paper for $39.99.

    20. This giant colorable map that you can actually use as a tablecloth once you and your family members are done unleashing your creativity and creating a beautiful, colorful world.

    22. A Magic Eight Ball that'll probably distract you and your roommates from cooking dinner, doing the dishes, and other mundane tasks around your apartment as you all fall victim to the ~mystifying~ predictive knowledge of this nostalgic toy.

Promising review: "Just like the Magic Eight Ball from my youth! What a great flashback! I got a great version in English that although it is slightly hard to read, that's exactly how they were when I was a kid. I really don't mind because it adds to the allure of the toy and slows you down a bit so you aren't just tipping it back and forth over and over. My husband enjoys it as well and never had one as a kid. For the low price, I wouldn't hesitate to buy this toy as a gift or for yourself. Great job, Mattel!" β€”The Van Wagners

Get it from Amazon for $9.02.

    24. A fun-looking photo album that'll keep you occupied for hours upon hours when you sort through old family photos to display in this convenient little book. Enjoy a trip down memory lane!

Promising review: "I love this album! Not only the front, and all the words, but inside, each page holds two 4-inch-by-6-inch photos and a spot to write a memory, date, or where you were in your travels that day!" β€”Meagan Corlew

Get it from Amazon for $10.99 (Or for more styles and colors, check out the brand's Amazon store page).

    25. This informative astrology-inspired book because it's bound to hook you in with some revealing facts about yourself and make you stick around to learn some additional deets about your loved ones as well.

As someone who's very (read: VERY) into astrology, I decided to get this book because the reviews said that it offers information on each individual birthdate as opposed to just a general collection of a month's worth of birthdays (the way zodiac signs are usually read). This book definitely helped me learn specific attributes about myself that I haven't considered before (I know so much about astrology that at this point, it's a pleasant surprise when a book tells me something I don't yet know about myself). I've even had my parents and friends check out their birthdays to learn something interesting about themselves. I've never heard anyone say that this book wasn't dead-on.

Get a paperback copy from Amazon for $20.99 (also available as a hardcover copy).

    26. A magnetic zen garden that'll help you relieve a little stress and become the (magnetic) force of nature you know you are. Keep it by your desk or on your coffee table so you can take a little break from working or watching TV to tend to any inner chaos.

This set includes one and a half pounds of magnetic sand, a wooden storage/display case, three metal tools, and four magnetic stones.

Promising review: "I got this for my office as I am a school counselor and my kinetic station draws in all my students. While the sand is a hit w/ middle schoolers and adults alike, the temptation for them to touch is too great and they all end up with black fingers. A bit messier than I like but I still use it, just with more self-controlled students (and adults)." β€”Joyce Lee

Get it from Amazon for $35.99.

    27. And finally, a pimple-popping pad for anyone who feels most at ease when watching those grossly satisfying pimple-squeezing videos online.

The set includes a popping pad, some fake pus, and a little pipette for transferring the pus into the pad.

Promising review: "So satisfying and fun! My friends thought it was gross but my daughter loves hers." β€”Alesha Morris

Get the nose-shaped kit from Amazon for $13.98 (available in one additional style; or, you can get the rectangular-shaped kit for $12.99).

    28. This Disney coloring book that'll calm you down and make the hours go by so quickly that you'll think time flew by magic.

Promising review: "Excellent coloring book. A good idea for folks who are not a natural color designer. The colored pictures helped me to relax even more because I did not have to worry about what color I would use. This is a really good idea, and I appreciate the customer service idea of enjoying the product as much as possible." β€”Grandmom in Arizona
