    1. Bio Oil gently treats uneven complexions — along with a myriad of other skin concerns — which has left over 100,000 reviewers raving. It's also noncomedogenic, which means it won't clog pores and *jumps for joy* can be used on the face to eradicate acne scars, too.

Psst! Bio-Oil contains retinol, which accelerates skin turnover but can make you more sensitive to the sun — so don't forget your sunscreen!

Promising review: "I swear by this product. Very effective on discolored skin due to scarring. I had shingles on my face brought about by stress because we were moving. It ravaged the lower right side of my face and I was pretty sure it was going to leave hideous scarring. I bought this and started applying it when I started scabbing and still haven't stopped using it until now. I had my shingles in April and it's August now. It works. Check the before and after pics. Scars are now gone." —twitch

    2. Glossier Balm Dotcom packs a punch in antioxidants and natural emollients, like castor oil, lanolin, and beeswax to treat and lock in moisture for chafed skin. Over 4,000 Glossier stans agree this is their everyday ~salve~ for unwanted dryness.

Promising review: "WHAT?!?! This product has changed my life. I like to think of myself as a chapstick connoisseur, I have been through many chapsticks trying to find the right one...and I can gladly say this is it!! This product instantly brings moisture to my lips, and it also makes my lips look plumper, too. If you're on the fence about buying this product I swear it is worth the buy!" —Glossier Customer

    3. PanOxyl Foaming Face Wash fights present and future breakouts with a 10% benzoyl peroxide formula. It powerfully kills off bacteria to prevent new skin bullies from appearing, and deals with those that are currently on the surface by unclogging pores and helping skin shed more effectively. (Since this is max. strength — those with sensitive skin should read on below).

    Jasmin Sandal/BuzzFeed,

I have super-sensitive, temperamental skin so using a maximum strength Benzoyl Peroxide as an all-over face wash would just not work for me. HOWEVER, after tapping through some stories and scrolling through some reviews, I discovered that many of those who suffer from bad breakouts, like myself, were using it as a spot treatment. And hey! I gotta say these folks were onto something. I gave this a whirl for a couple of months — used it in conjunction with a mild, all-over facial cleanser — and strictly dotted this on painful, under-the-skin pimples post-cleanse. After applying it each night and allowing it to sit on my skin for no more than two minutes, I noticed a significant decrease in the size of these boulder-like breakouts come the next morning. (If I saw any irritation or dryness, I'd skip a night.) Now, I use this to help clear my skin anytime I feel one of those bullies trying to punch their way through — and, TBH, it really helps to keep things under control!

(Just don't forget to thoroughly moisturize after each use!)

Promising review: "This product is by far the best solution if you struggle with acne. I have tried millions of cleaners, creams, masks you name it I’ve tried it and nothing works as good as PanOxyl. I currently use the 10% and have since the beginning, I have heard some people experience dryness however, that has never happened with me. I swear by this product and it definitely does not get the hype it should. After one week my face was completely free of breakouts! This product uses benzoyl peroxide instead of other typical acne treatments, like salicylic acid which only removes dead skin cells and unclogs pores. This product works by or penetrating deep with the pores killing the bacteria that causes acne! So while it’s clearing your breakouts it’s preventing new ones from starting. That being said this product does contain peroxide so it will stain any towels or clothing it comes in contact with!" —Carolyn

    4. Colab Overnight Renew Dry Shampoo works the overnight shift to freshen up your sad, greasy roots. Since this stuff does the work of two products (cares + cleanses your scalp with pink clay and lavender), you and your locks can wake up feeling refreshed — and with more time to snooze!

model with greasy roots as before then model with voluminous, fresh roots

BuzzFeed Editor Elizabeth Lily uses this and raves: "I have this dry shampoo and it really does work so much harder than regular dry shampoo formulas. When you spray it on, it's more likely to look stark white (don't freak out about it like I did!), but you simply rub it in like you would a normal dry shampoo before you hit the hay. Waking up with degreased roots definitely gives me a head start on trying to pull myself together these days when, TBH, I'm only (regularly) washing my hair once a week. Because this stuff is so potent though, you should really only use it before bedtime. If you're curious about their regular dry shampoos, they're great! The Unicorn scent in particular smells lovely."

Get it from Walmart for $6.78.

    5. Maybelline Total Temptation Eyebrow Definer pencils in patchy brows for a look that's natural, long lasting, and can be tamed using the soft, built-in spoolie. And! Reviewers note that the angled pencil allows for quicker (and easier) application over a smaller, pointed tip.,

Promising review: "I have been using this one for years after trying more expensive brands and this is by far the best! I have very sparse natural brows. People can never believe how thin my natural brows are as I always fill them in with this pencil and people think I’m blessed with thick brows. This stuff HOLDS UP. I have oil-prone skin and this doesn’t budge throughout the day and I work 12-hour shifts. I have run marathons in the heat and even the rain and this stuff didn’t budge. I even went snorkeling with a MASK and it didn’t budge. I swear by this pencil. I am so self-conscious of my eyebrows but too afraid to try microblading and since I’ve been using this product I don’t even think about it anymore. It takes less than a minute for me to do my brows in the morning with this pencil and they last all day." —Shelley

    6. Garnier SkinActive Micellar Cleansing Water dissolves full faces of selfie-ready makeup with a super-gentle liquid solution. Even waterproof mascara and long-wear lip stains are no match after a couple of swipes with this, which helps to remove dirt and oil without over-drying.,

Promising review: "This is my go-to makeup remover! It’s the best, especially to take off mascara! I always feel clean and like I got all my makeup off when I use this. I swear by this product!!! Just ordered my third bottle. It lasts me a long time. too!" —jo anna grove

buzzfeed editor's eyes before and after using the mascara with the done lashes looking darker and longer
    Kayla Boyd / BuzzFeed

BuzzFeed Editor Kayla Boyd tried this out and raves: "As someone who isn't a big fan of false lashes (the glue irritates my eyes and I'm terrible at applying them) this budget-friendly holy grail does the trick for both lengthening and volumizing my lashes. After you've given it a minute to dry, it lasts all day long and doesn't smudge or fade. It seriously gives the effect of false lashes, without the discomfort."

Promising review: "This is my holy grail, I seriously swear by this mascara. I’ve spent years using better than sex which retails for about $25 a tube. When I came across this and saw the results I immediately forgot about any previous products I’ve used to obtain long volume lashes. If you haven’t tried this yet you need to. 8. Acavado's Eyelash Brush separates eye whiskers that have fallen prey to one too many coats of mascara (cc: spider lashes). This'll comb through clumps — and with its curved design, will give you a more natural, fanned-out look instantly.

And! This comes with a protective cover to keep it clean and protected so it can be neatly stored away in your makeup bag.

Promising review: "This is a great tool. I have used eyelash combs in the past, but this is the first time I have used the curved shape. It makes a huge difference! The curved shape is much more effective at separating lashes. I recommend letting your mascara dry a bit before using the comb, to avoid getting smudges on your eyelid. I like that this tool has a metal comb, and the cover is helpful." —Lisa

    9. Vanicream Moisturizing Cream pumps out hydration for your whole bod with a fuss-free formula that's omitted fragrances, dyes, and parabens to take care of eczema and just generally irritated epidermis. Enthusiasts are noting stinging, burning, and itchiness are now a thing of the past!

Promising reviews: "Swear by this stuff for sensitive skin. I have sensitive skin due to rosacea and skin allergies. My dermatologist recommended Vanicream Lite Lotion for my face. It was ok but then I discovered this stuff — the moisturizing cream in the pump. The Vanicream Moisturizing cream is fantastic - my rosacea is so much better since switching to this stuff. It keeps my sensitive skin happy and protected. I even use it during the summer months with no problems. Vanicream made a fantastic product!" —S

"Finally a moisturizer that doesn’t burn sting or irritate my skin. I’ve had supersensitive skin all my life especially on my face and I am 46 years old I have finally found the one lotion that doesn’t irritate my face. I am day two into using the cleanser and the moisturizer and you have no idea how great it is for my face not to burn and turn bright red just fantastic!!!! The moisturizer is a bit thick so you don’t need a lot even though it’s a little higher priced it’ll last forever and it’s worth it when you have supersensitive skin. FAN FOR LIFE!!!" —Alisa Griffey

    10. Wet N' Wild Mega Last Breakup-Proof Liquid Eyeliner delivers high-end results at a drugstore price. Think: an opaque, streak-free wing, flick, or bold stroke that lasts up to 16(!) hours. Ultra-pigmented and waterproof, this draws a precise, foolproof line every time, *and* features an ultrafine brush tip.

A reviewer photo of a winged black liquid eyeliner

Promising review: "I love this! The tip has a pretty fine point to it allowing for thick or thin line control and it is SO smudge-proof! I work with animals and end up getting water sprayed in my face often and it doesn’t move! If I take a nap with it on? Still solid when I wake up. Rub my eyes way more than I should? No raccoon eyes! But when I want it gone it comes right off when washing my face or using a remover wipe! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good, budge-proof eyeliner that won’t take 50 years and a bottle of oil to get off." —Logan

    12. Bawdy Butt Sheet Masks redefine the meaning of self-care for le derrière. Thanks to natural, plant-based ingredients, you can slap on some moisture and tone every inch of your booty-ful self, one cheek at a time (...or at the exact same time)., Amazon

    They're available in four varieties:

    * Slap It (pictured; retexturing and detoxifying with caffeine)

    * Squeeze It (brightening and rejuvenating with citrus)

    * Shake It (firming and illuminating with marine algae)

    * Bite It (hydrating and toning with plant-based collagen)

Promising review (for "Bite it"): "I LOVED this mask. I was incredibly skeptical and figured it'd be more of a novelty mask. I was also sure that the mask would not be big enough to cover my curvy thicc butt. It's safe to say my expectations were low. Regardless I was blown away with the outcome. I'm so happy I purchased. I do have cellulite as well as overly dry skin, as it's summertime I spend a lot of time in bikinis with my bottom showing and I just felt like a hydration recharge and a little life added back into my skin. I took a shower and when I got out, I put the mask on and left it on longer than the recommended amount of time. I felt the end result visibly made my skin look hydrated as well as smooth. Not only that but I felt the next morning I could still visibly see the results, so I was extra happy in my bikini that day. I know everyone's skin and shape is different so results will always vary but I can definitely say this booty mask is no gimmick, and extra kudos to this company for making a booty mask that covers big booties! Also side note: The packaging is adorable." —CC

This shampoo was designed to work for sensitive scalps, color-dyed, and chemically processed hair as well as for all hair types and textures, with reviewers with 3b-4c curls mentioning it worked for them.

Promising review: "This product is great. My scalp is moist but without all the scaly dry skin. My hair feels nice, not oily or weighed down nor extremely dry like hay. It is soft and manageable. Of all the products I have used for dandruff and dry scalp, this is the best one I have used. I swear by this shampoo. Don't hesitate to order if you are looking for a non-prescription shampoo. My dermatitis is severe meaning extremely dry scalp and all that goes with it. You will be pleased with this product." —MLB

reviewer wearing the stone colored gloss

Promising review: "I keep going back to buy more colors. This is THEE gloss. You can throw it on alone and it has enough pigment to look great even without lip liner. I’ve never had a gloss wear this well without being sticky. I have some fine lip lines and it doesn’t bleed. Bonus that as it wears off, it leaves a nice bit of color without any weirdness and my lips just feel moisturized. Excellent price point that makes it fun to keep trying more colors. Reviewer showing pus on patches

Promising review: "I swear by this product. A while back I tried Mighty Patch and they worked wonders, however the price was a little much to be buying them often. I happened to stumble across these as a similar product and gave them a try because the price was much better. It's crazy to see how they just pull the bacteria right out of the ready to pop pimple without the hard pinching to pop them. I find that putting one on before bed is the best practice because overnight I swear the pimple is smaller in size and not white. The skin heals so much smoother and without scaring. I also put them on my boyfriend's face when he gets a breakout and they work just the same for his face. He will even put one on before work so that when he is working it protects against sweat and more bacteria. These are my go to acne patches and I will be ordering another pack as soon as I run out." —Dani Kwiatkowski

I have given this to two of my friends ALREADY — one with thick and curly hair, the other with limp and fine hair — and THEY BOTH swear by this product! Just can't think of enough good things to say! I have short bleached hair, so am getting excellent results using less than half as much as they recommend. Buy this stuff --- you'll thank yourself later!!!!!" —enamelcamel

Promising review: "This product is AMAZING! If you have thinning hair or graying hair, this powder is a must have. It even creates a bit of volume to my very thin hair. I've purchased many different hair products to conceal my thinning hair, most are ineffective, messy, or leave my hair feeling greasy. It's super easy to use, I even use it for my sparse eyebrows, I simply brush use a soft, small lip liner brush to fill in my brows for a natural look. I also love that it lasts till your next shampoo. At first I didn't like the built-in sponge, but I've grown to really like it. The powder sticks to the sponge, making it easy to apply to whatever area you want to cover up, and the powder doesn't come off on pillows if you leave it on overnight." —Amazon Customer

Promising review: "Lasted me all day. Seriously, I swear. Great stuff. No stickiness, smells great. Mine went from a orangey coral to a very natural looking youthful healthy natural medium pink and stayed. First time I wiped excess off and it stayed a couple of hours but now I put a healthy coat on and don’t leave the house for ten to fifteen minutes. By then it has soaked in and there’s no residue. I love it. I’m back on here to buy more. I'm 57 with tiny lips and this is a god send. Just don’t freak out when you first put it on. Go for it!!!!!" —K
