23 Movie Lines That Are So Cringeworthy, They Almost Ruined The Movie For People

"You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness monster?"

We recently asked members of the BuzzFeed Community to tell us which cringeworthy movie lines they just can't stand. Here are some of their responses!

1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire

Warner Brothers

"In Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry goes 'I love magic' after walking into the tent at the Quidditch World Cup. It’s such an awful line, I cringe every time it plays."

2. The Holiday

Universal Pictures

"He's supposed to be entertaining his kids, and they just fall about laughing, but seriously? I don't know kids who would laugh at that!"

3. Sierra Burgess is a Loser

"Erm NO so not cool, definitely not a compliment."

4. Kingsman: The Secret Service

20th Century Fox

"WHY...JUST WHY. The movie was so good until that."

Warner Bros. Pictures

6. The Perks of Being a Wallflower

Summit Entertainment

7. Dirty Dancing

Vestron Pictures

"I’ve waited my whole life to share this — I cannot watch the 'You’re WILD' line in Dirty Dancing without full-on secondhand embarrassment for Baby. For those that don’t remember the scene, it’s after Johnny breaks his car window to take Baby off the resort to practice their lift in the lake."

8. The Notebook

New Line Cinema

"I literally hate that line so much... It's so weird."

9. Suicide Squad

Warner Brothers

"When the Enchantress in Suicide Squad turns to Flagg and says, 'You don't have the balls.' She's meant to be hundreds of years old; an Egyptian goddess, and she comes out with THAT?!"

10. Twilight: Breaking Dawn — Part 2

New Line Cinema

"The whole movie wasn’t that good, but that part made me laugh my ass off."

11. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Warner Brothers

"This line made the whole plot of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it is just so stupid. Sounds more like the plot of a romantic drama than a superhero flick. Too cheesy for this movie."

12. Titanic

Paramount Pictures / 20th Century Fox

"I roll my eyes every time I hear it. It’s such a cheesy line."

13. Hocus Pocus

Buena Vista / Walt Disney

"The scene in Hocus Pocus where Dani rolls on the bed saying, 'Kiss me, I'm Allison.' Wrong, hun, that's your brother."

14. 17 Again

New Line Cinema

"In 17 Again, Zac Efron gives this epic takedown speech confronting the school bully and totally puts him in his place, but then he ends it with an inexplicable 'Don't hurt yourself, big boy.' Whyyyyy. Totally ruins the moment."

15. Twilight

Summit Entertainment

"I know Twilight is a an all-around questionable movie anyways, but this line makes my skin crawl. Like wtf."

16. Suicide Squad

Warner Brothers

"So cheesy and trying so hard to be deep."

“'Now dig on this' during the catastrophic Spider-Man 3 when Peter is doing that awkward jazz dance? So uncomfortable to watch and hear!"

21. Beauty and the Beast

Walt Disney

"The ending of the new Beauty and the Beast where Belle says, 'How do you feel about growing a beard?' and the beast smiles and does the creepiest growl. It's just so wrong and makes me cringe."

—Charlotte Powell via Facebook

22. The Fast and the Furious

—Rebecca Tokdemir via Facebook

23. Star Wars: Episode II — Attack of the Clones
